With Dean's empowering female characters and their hot and intense love stories, The Line Below and Kick are all-consuming stories that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster and leave you on the edge of your seat.

Warning: book hangover likely after listening to this boxed set.

The Line Below

When my teammates drag me to a club for my 21st birthday, the last thing on my mind is meeting a new guy. I'm not the kind of girl who gets wrapped up in a stranger on a sweaty dance floor. Except, that's exactly what happens.

Only, the guy isn't a stranger. He's Jett Decker, the Olympic track star who has the entire campus buzzing with his transfer to our college. He may have given me his number, but I won't use it. I refuse to be distracted by silly things like explosive chemistry. I've got my own Olympic dreams to chase. Turns out, whatever ignited on that dance floor can't be put out by swimming laps.

Kick

When rising rock star Jack Kingston comes to play on our college campus, I think he’ll be just another fix. Instead, he flips everything around and makes me question who I am, what I want, and why I do what I do. After he leaves, everything changes.

Pushing myself in the pool, struggling to keep up with my twin sister, it’s what keeps me from losing myself entirely. Swimming isn’t my passion. It’s my source of stability. When I find the courage to finally start pushing my boundaries, I discover success in ways I never imagined, both in and out of the water. When Jack resurfaces, I'm forced to decide between facing my fears or letting them spiral out of control as my past catches up with me... threatening to pull me back under. It's time to sink or swim.

This is a one click!

Two amazing sports romances with twin sisters, it's impossible to go wrong! Ali Dean works her magic and brings us Shay and Kick(Lydia)'s stories and you do not want to miss them. First we have The Line Below: Shay is a dedicated and serious swimmer, in college and trying out for the Olympics. When Olympian Jett literally seeks her out, she is shocked. But the chemistry is there and their relationship grows. Next we have Kick. Kick lives to swim, but is unsure if this is her destiny. She is one not interested in relationships and loves to party. Until she meets up and coming rock star Jack Kjngston. There is something about him that changed her views. Kick is such an interesting character. She is smart, ambitious and indecisive. She is dealing with a secret to the best of her ability, but will it eventually destroy her future? Jack is everything Kick could ever want. But with his career, can he be trusted? These stories have meat to them! They are about life, coming of age, figuring out paths, racial and class issues and dealing with family. I really enjoyed their paths.

Stacey Glemboski adds to these books with her wonderful narration. She has an innate her ability to give each character the perfect voice and personality. She is a pleasure to listen to.

Great Duet!

The Line Below - Shay is a swimmer on the university team with dreams of competing in the Olympics and when it comes to her family her twin sister is the rule breaker while Shay tries to keep the peace. Who is drawn to Shay even if they didn’t get off to the best start. As their relationship progresses there is no denying the chemistry and connection between them, but they must handle the obstacles that both families place on their lives so that they can have the future they want not the one others want for them.

Kick - Kick is an accomplished swimmer however Kick has always felt she hasn’t measured up to her sister which is why she doesn’t believe that a man would want to be with her for more than one night. Jack is rising musician when he meets Kick, but he wants more than one night so they go their separate ways. Months later when they meet again Kick is a changed person and a relationship develops between them but when her past resurfaces will it bring them closer or tear them apart?

The narrator did a great job of bringing out the angst of the story and the emotions that the characters were feeling. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

The Spark Sisters

The Spark Sisters Duet hit home on the parents front. I can relate to the impossible standards parents set on their children and the disappointment when the children follow their own path.
Both Shay & Kick follow in love hard and fast and accomplish the goals they set for themselves.

I haven’t listened to an audiobook narrated by Stacey Glemboski before and she didn’t disappoint. Stacey was great as both female and male character. She really brought all four characters to life.

So good!!

I really loved how easy it was to get lost in these books. Ali Dean is always good about bringing the spice but also keeping the story fun and sweet, with a splash of innocence.

I love her stories and this one definitely did not disappoint!

The Spark sister's stories were so vastly different yet still the same and I loved that about them. They are twins, but they still have their own uniqueness to them.

Shay and Jett were amazing together and watching them grow together was beautiful, I loved watching her find her footing and realize who she is and who she is meant to become.

Then there is Kick, the party girl, the one who is determined to stay away from relationships, scared of commitment.. until she meets Jack Kingston who challenges her determination at every turn.

These two stories hold a special place in my heart and I can't wait to revisit them again.

Let us not forget to mention how amazing Stacey Glemboski did! She gave each of the girls a uniqueness even though she is only one person, it was easy to tell what was going on and who was saying what and I was so thankful for that. It really made the story flow easier.

Good duet of intertwined college romance

There are two good intertwined stories about two college twin-sisters finding themselves and love on the way. I like the main characters, both males and females, and their inner turmoil which reflects any college student out there... These are relatable characters, wound in a good and solid writing and story-telling which makes a great canvas for the listener (I am reviewing after the audiobook).
For all romance lovers, with a younger-ish demographic either by number or by heart...
