An alien warrior has made me an offer I can’t refuse. In exchange, he can do what he wants with me for one week.

I want a child, but that’s impossible now that Earth men are sterile. Then, a ping from a distant planet reaches us. Aliens are real, and they’re interested in getting to know Earth women better.

The Xilans fall into an insatiable urge once every three years. It's called the Slaking. There aren’t enough females to give them what they need, so like many Earth women, I sign up. For one week, I’ll make an alien happy, and in exchange, I get a child. As long as I keep my heart of out of the equation, things should go fine, right?

But when an intergalactic war erupts, we must fight for our very survival.

Alien Commander’s Mate is book one in the Fated Mates of the Xilan Warrior series. It features aliens who look and act alien, heated plot lines, and a guaranteed HEA.

Waited to write the review until I finished all the books. Usually the first in a series is epic and then starts to disappoint. BUT not this time, I enjoyed all four books. Each with same sort of beginning, which makes sense once you listen to the first but then each story is so different.
Recommend all four books!
Great narration as well.
Ava Ross, you have not disappointed :-)

If you like fated mates in space then you’ll enjoy this easy listen. I’ve started listening through Ava Ross’ different series and enjoyed each one so far!

5 stars for sci fi romance

The few humorous passages couldn’t save this book. Repetitive language, lazy worldbuilding and flat characters. Couldn’t finish it.

Really bad

the narrators were good, but I'm afraid the writing is too flowery, melodramatic and nonsensical in places. as others reviews said, flat characters, no world building and the action is spoiled by internal monologue

trope and cliche and melodrama
