I love the “suspense” added in. All the steamy scenes were super hot. Really enjoyed this listen. Great start to this new author for me.

Love the story line and the type of relationship Nathaniel and Gwyneth have. I don't completely like the female narrator..

This is the first book in the Empire series, a standalone romance. Nathaniel (Nat) and Gwyneth (Gwyn)’s story is well written and captivating. Nat is handsome and protective. Gwyn is young, naive, and impulsive. They share a sizzling hot chemistry, and a push and pull relationship. Gwyn's dad Kingsley is an enigmatic character, and a fantastic single dad. I would love to read his story. This is a great age-gap, father’s best friend, and taboo/forbidden romance. Aiden Snow, Callie Dalton and Connor Crais did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it! Rina Kent never disappoints!

It's not much of a secret I'm a huge fan of this author, so when I found out what they were writing I was excited to say the least. This is a (huge) age gap, fathers best friend, marriage of convenience story with a dusting of the angst anyone who's read RK before will be familiar with. I couldn't put this down and finished it in less than a day. This is taboo but not as dark as previous RK books, and the tension is high. I cannot wait to see what else this series brings. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.
