All Nick wants to do is take his dying father for a perfect father-son weekend in the Scottish Highlands. It’s not much to ask, is it? A log cabin, a roaring fire, a bottle of fine whiskey, and two days to paper over the cracks in their relationship. However, Nick didn’t plan on making the trip with a dead neighbour in the back of his car. Or the neighbour’s dog. He really didn’t plan on being pursued by a psychotic female assassin intent on collecting body parts. And he really, really didn’t plan on encountering a platoon of heavily armed mercenaries, or some very hungry boars, or a werewolf.

A Heart in the Right Place - a story about setting out with the very best intentions and then, messing everything up.

laugh out loud moments compared to their other books but still a great listen with smiles

not as many

I liked the Audio book but I did find the son a bit of an annoying whinger with no redeeming features.

The narrator did a fine job but used the same character voices in the other books, so don’t listen to them back to back as it can get a bit confusing…

A great read / listen

I’m a huge fan of Clovenhoof series and this one is by same authors so I gave it a chance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narration really adds a lot to it as well. Very very funny and original.

Great story, superb narration.

The way it all neatly contained so much in a single book was masterful.
The way the plans for a simple weekend away went so wrong, but somehow so well was utterly hilarious.

A neatly contained adventure full of fun, gore and a very violent public school educated woman (aren't they all)
