This omnibus set includes all four books in The Oremere Chronicles series by best-selling author Helen Scheuerer. With hours of adventure, secrets, magic, and mystery, this collection has been called “fantasy at its finest”, “addictive”, and “captivating” by fans all around the world.

Life was a struggle...

...but she was clever, even without resorting to magic.

Will she embrace her powers?

At 16, Bleak lost the only person she cared for when her mentor died at sea. Now 19, she still misses him terribly. She needs him more than ever. That’s why Bleak drinks. But the haze of the mead and wine has hidden something from her.

Her powers have grown more than she knows.

Others have noticed.

When the king sends his top commander to take her, Bleak is too hungover to resist. But he isn’t the only one who needs her for their plans. What does he want?

In a land where the mist can kill, magic is forbidden, and the powerful plot against each other, Bleak is caught in the middle.

All she wants is a cure for her powers...

...but she’ll need them for what comes next.

The story is easy to read and, compared to many other series, is still enjoyable. However, there are countless plotholes, which I won't list so as not to give away spoilers. One thing, above all, is the "usual" incongruity of equipping some characters with mind-blowing powers that are used at times, but seem to disappear in topical moments. The protagonists are not memorable. And there are fundamental inconsistencies about the sirens world (even their name is different) whose story will be developed in the series The Curse of the Cyren Queen.

All in all, enjoyable

The best thing about this is it's main characters aren't fumbling stupidly over one another in love. it's completely story driven, very well narrated. The story and characters weave seamlessly, extremely well put together for 40 odd hours.

excellent
