Meet Mitch Tanner.

Philadelphia Homicide Detective.

He's tough, gritty, and relentless.

But this case is gonna push him over the edge.

Detective Mitch Tanner's life hangs in the balance. He clings to the daughter in his care. He agonizes over the disappearance of his son and estranged wife. Twelve months has yet to turn up a solid lead.

While investigating the apparent accidental death of Dusty Anne Miller, Mitch and his partner Sam Foster find themselves in the middle of a fiendish plan that strikes too close to home. Running out of time, he plummets into the depths of darkness. And from there, he vows to bring the masterminds down, no matter the consequences.

The Depth of Darkness is a dark, fast-paced suspense thriller featuring L.T. Ryan's new dark hero, Mitch Tanner. Once you enter the darkness, you can't turn back.

The Mitch Tanner Mystery Thriller Series is perfect for fans of Michael Connelly, John Sandford, Robert Crais, David Baldacci, Stuart Woods, and James Patterson.

I thought it was a good story, liked the main character, hope the second book will be as good or better.

The narration is very well done - with a female voicing some of the female characters - and I found it flowed very well. The Mitch Tanner character is written in such a way that the narration sounded a little like Sam Spade (showing my age) in places but it's very easy to listen to.

The storyline was gripping enough to hold my attention while working but I wouldn't describe it as a "thriller" necessarily. My one gripe is Mitch Tanner sleeping with 2 of the women he has contact with - despite apparently having only recently "lost" his wife and son (missing, not dead). But I'm old-fashioned and don't want/need my detectives to be sexed up in any shape or form! :) I'm a fan of the Columbo/Poirot/Vera type detective who has ample charisma without having/needing to share what goes on in their underpants! Nevertheless, I would definitely listen to another Mitch Tanner book.

Pretty good crime drama/thriller

I was a bit dubious about this series since it was written released in 2013 so I thought it might be a bit outdated and dry. Boy was I wrong! This book had be hooked immediately. The writing is excellent, the characters are excellent and the story intriguing.I will devour the three books that I have in my list and I just hope the other two books don't run out of steam, if they are as good as this one I'll be a very happy woman!
