Summary
Never trust the spy who loves you.
Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin has a history with spies that typically ends with most of them dead. But Agent Sean Delaney is proving to be the frustrating exception to every one of Alexei’s rules of engagement. As part of Alpha Team’s long-running mission to stop an enemy metahuman, the two are constantly forced to work together, resulting in a simmering attraction neither can ignore.
When the MDF tasks them with finding evidence of criminal wrongdoing against the owner of a private military company, Sean knows exactly how to play the game to win. But it’s one thing to con the enemy, quite another to con his own heart. Preferred the book
This is a great story and I loved this series, however I found that I preferred the book this time around. Maybe if I had listened on a different day I would feel differently but this is in me.

Loved it!
This was an excellent audiobook.
Great writing, characters and story, brought to life with great narration.

Amazing!

Undercover lives of metahumans...hot!
So when Agent Sean Delaney runs into problems during an undercover op, it's up to Alexei and his Alpha team to save the day. These metahumans all have different abilities and specialities, so they work well together when Sean is seconded to the team in order to bring down a criminal with family ties to a Casino mogul.
Alexei and Sean seem to work well together both on and off the job, so when things heat up and the team comes to their aid, things go boom around them.
I really enjoyed all the intrigue and action...what a car chase! There is plenty to entertain and enthral with some hot man on man loving thrown in for good measure. Highly recommended for all fans of fantasy/sci-fi paranormal action-adventure MM romance and of the Metahuman Files/Hailey Turner in particular.
Greg Boudreaux is spectacular as always in bringing these characters to life and making us live the story along with them.

I loved this.
I love this diversity of this narrator for this series, he really brings it alive for me. I Just can't want for the next two to be finished, please narrate faster ;)
I listened to it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down.
This series just goes from strength to strength. Love it, great Job Greg Boudreaux And Hailey Turner.

Absolutely gripping!
Turner has created an amazing new world with the Metahuman Files series. I found myself unable to stop listening and was thoroughly engaged in this book. Boudreaux's narration adds life to these amazing characters. This plot is not for the feint of heart and NOT a stand alone.

Unexpected
I guess I had an opinion formed of Alexi but he was ten kinds of adorable and possessive. Wow it was hot when he got all growly over Sean.
I'm impressed at the level of worldbuilding involved.

This series just gets better and better
The plot twists just keep coming, which kept me interested right to the the end. The relationship unfolded well and the balance between romance and heat was good. Greg Boudreaux's narration was in point as always. I love this world.
