Hope is a four-letter word. Yet, I can’t help but hope that the Oracle will be the answer to what I seek.

But getting to the Oracle is no small thing as she resides in the center of the Blasted Lands - toxic waste, lava, and monsters. And as the alpha of our pride, it’s up to me to act responsibly and not get my people all killed.

Driving us from behind comes the desert goddess whose rage is centered on me, and with her is a new ally, who still holds my heart in his hands. One whose voice calls to me still.

Eyes on the prize, I will push forward, even though hope feels weak and pointless. Along the way, maybe my heart will heal; maybe I’ll bring my brother back from the dead; maybe this will turn out okay after all.

Or maybe I will lose everything, and everyone I hold dear, and discover I’m not meant to save anyone.

Hope might spring eternal, but she’s a right bitch as far as I can see.

I’m loving where this story is going.
Although, it almost had me in tears at one point 🥺 I can’t wait to listen to the next instalment

Enjoyed the book, however for me the pacing was off at points. Keen to see where this story goes though.

I have listened to this series & have enjoyed it with the great mix of magical creature's & good character's here's my but Zam is forever going on about how she's been told all her life she's to wake & small to do thing's but she does them Also Lyla the tiny dragon is supposed to be so small she can curl up on Zam's lap or fit between the horse's ear's so how can she lift Zam straight up into the sky doesn't make sense to me & if she's so in love with Max why's she banging on about his brother Ford making her think stuff she shouldn't be thinking 🤔 Ok so I'm being picky I paid for the book's so can express my opinion Would reccommd this series so who care's right? Good narrator as well as storyline 😀

I love the twists and turns in this book, and Lauren delivers them flawlessly. No black and white characters here, only splashes of vivid colour and shades of grey.

Such a good series continuation

And just when you think you know what is going to happen next, Ms Mayer throws a spanner in the works and mixes it up! Zam and Lila have the most amazing friendship and you will love joining them on their quest! A fantastic addition to the series and brilliant narration in the audible version by Lauren Fortgang. A must read!
