Summary

Wes: Life on the road as a pro-ballplayer isn't without it's drawbacks. And now, without a team to play for, I find myself heading home. Maybe it's a good thing. I can focus on my daughter, Izzy, and my life. I need to get things straightened out, including that hole that I never filled after Izzy's mom left. But, is there anything that could keep me in town if another team came calling?

Kristin: I came to Chandler to build a new life. But just a few months in, things abruptly changed. Wes Martin: professional baseball player, apparent local hero, and total hottie is back in town. Our chance meeting in my library is quickly leading to something more. I'm falling hard for this man. But am I just another notch on his belt? Will I come between he and his daughter? There are too many questions, so many complications. Yet... I can't get Was Martin out of my head.

Standalone Novel

Standalone Novel.

Kristin just started her job as her new town's librarian when she meets Wes, former baseball star. He's home after losing his job, but somehow his family has moved on without him. His daughter, Izzy, is a moody teenager who lives with his parents most of the year. Now, he doesn't know how to connect with her as a father. When Izzy finds Kristin with her father, she loses it. Wes just needs a little time to figure out how to make it all work, but he is offered a fantastic opportunity at just the wrong moment.

If you're looking for a book that doesn't have sugar-coated characters and shows the balance required for real life, this is the book for you!

Single Dad, sports romance.

Change Up by Lacy Hart is a single dad sports romance, narrated by Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Wes is a professional baseball player, he's also a single dad to 15 year old Isabelle. When life throws a curve-ball and Wes finds himself back in his home town indefinitely he meets Kristen.
Kristen is the local librarian and when she meets Wes she has no idea who he really is, there is this immediate chemistry between them even though Wes is 13 years her senior but with Wes having a teenage daughter the age gap will be the least of her worries.

I have listened to a Lacy Hart book before with these same narrators and although I didn't feel much of a connection with them in that book I can certainly say that with this book all that changed.

Loved it!

I love this book. Wes goes through a hard time losing his job, getting to know his teenage daughter, and his mom is battling cancer. He meets Kristin and she makes him happy but not sure how to divide his time getting to know his daughter, helping his mom & dad, figuring out a new job, and falling in love with Kristin. So well written and read. I enjoy the male/female narration the best.

A sweet love story

This was a really enjoyable audiobook both the story and the narrators. In the story the couple has alot to over come with an age difference and one of them having a teenage daughter. I feel like this story was vary relatable to real world situations. Overall I really enjoyed this audiobook.

Lovely sports romance

Kristen and Wes's story was a well written sports romance. It's been a while since I read one of those so I enjoyed it very much.
I liked both characters. Kristen was more mature than her years and Wes found out that there was more in life than baseball.

Both narrators did a good job. Out of the two of them I liked Daniel James Lewis's performance better. For me his voice conveyed emotions more realistically. It was harder for me to experience a dramatic moment narrated with Juliana Solo's singsong voice. Also there was a palpable difference in the quality of the two recordings.

This is a very sweet, easy listen!

This is a well written, very sweet story of two wonderful people. The how and why you’ll have to read about. A single dad who has been away a lot, with a daughter who he adores, but doesn’t get to spend enough time with.

What happens when the meet is a very nice story with a few twists. Go listen and find out for yourself!!

Older man, younger woman

Change Up is a sweet love story about a pro baseball player that has been dropped by his team, he heads home and finds the local librarian is someone he wants to get to know. There is a large age gap between these two as well as struggles with his 15 year old daughter and his career.

The narration is really good for this story. They keep your interest throughout and make it believable. I received a code from Audiobook Obsessions to listen and review and give my honest opinion. I enjoyed it, it's a solid 4 for me.

Wes + Kristin= Adorable!

I generally don't do a lot of sports romance stories, but I thought this was absolutely adorable. Wes is a stand-up guy who lost his spot on the team because, in the world of baseball, 35 is old. Hey, everyone has a birthday! He meets Kristin, the local librarian, and sparks fly! I thought they were great together. It took me a while to warm up to Izzy. There was one moment, she made me extremely angry. But she came around, just as I did. What was missing for me was conflict. Other than Izzy, there wasn't any real drama. I'm okay with that, but it would have been nice to have. The narrations were spot on and the sweet personalities injected into each character made the story sweet and endearing.

Homerun in the romance department

Sweet single dad learns what is important in life. Wes is a professional baseball player who is a single dad to a 15 year old daughter. Wes falls for the sweet and younger librarian. They both need to work out their feelings for each other. In the end they find out that Kristin is an amazing girl who loves both Wes and his daughter Izzy.
