The lights dim at the Paris Opera House. The exquisite Christine Daae enraptures the audience with her mellifluous voice. Immediately, Raoul de Chagny falls deeply in love. But the legend of the disfigured opera ghost haunts the performance, and as Raoul begins his pursuit of Christine, he is pulled into the depths of the opera house, and into the depths of human emotions. Soon Raoul discovers that the ghost is real and that he wields a terrifying power over Christine; a power as unimaginable as the ghost's masked face. As Raoul and the ghost vie for Christine's love, a journey begins into the dark recesses of the human heart, where desire, vulnerability, fear, and violence unravel in a tragic confrontation.

Couldn't stop listening beginning to end. Wonderful reading of marvelous novel. A jewel. Highly recommended.

One of the most intoxicating stories ever written.

narrator is mostly OK but then puts on a very out of place cockney accent for voicing Madame Giry who is a 40+ year old french woman. Very strange and offputting

fine performance, story obviously a classic.

The narrator was very good & made the listening of this story easy. Unfortunately there are several places where one to a few words are repeated - this is a production problem & in no way the fault of the narrator (or author). It is annoying but doesn't spoil the narrative so much that it ruins the enjoyment of listening.

Good book, glitches in the recording

I listened to all of it simply b3cause I was going to see the musical.
I found the narrator excellent, and the content of the book slow, excessively detailed, and dragged on far too long.

Laborious
