The city of Voortyashtan was once the home of the goddess of death, war and destruction, but now it's little more than a ruin.

General Turyin Mulaghesh is called out of retirement and sent to this hellish place to find a Saypuri secret agent who's gone AWOL in the middle of a mission. But the ghosts of past wars have followed her there, and soon she begins to wonder what happened to the souls in the afterlife when the gods were defeated by her people, the Polis.

Do the dead sleep soundly in the land of death? Or do they have plans of their own?

A welcome return to the universe of 'City of Stairs', I really didn't want the book to end.

Good narration that was understandable at x2 playback speed.

Looking forward to the last book in the trilogy.

A worthy sequel.

wish I would've revised that there is no way of finishing this series via audiobook

If you could sum up City of Blades in three words, what would they be?

Engaging, thought-provoking, suspense.

Who was your favorite character and why?

.General Turyin Mulaghesh: A one handed, searing femail action hero. Depth of character is expertly revealed as you go on an emotional as well as action packed journey through the twists and turns of the plot.
Truly engaging.

Which character – as performed by Buffy Davis – was your favourite?

It is best to say, same excellent style as previous book in the series.
If you enjoyed that, you will enjoy this.
I found them both entertaining through action and suspense as well as insightful with their philosophical undercurrent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I found the narrator was excellent.

Any additional comments?

New location, new plot, exploring other characters.
Same excitement, action with clever suspense and a philosophical question in its undercurrent.
I really look forward to the third books release.

Another Excellent Read. You won't be disappointed.

Very enjoyable book but why isn't the final book available on audible? Seems strange to offer two books of a trilogy.

This second book in the series is every bit as great as the first while keeping the story fresh with a new setting and shifting focus to side characters from the first book. Mulaghesh and Sigrud get great character development in this one and their stories intertwine nicely with the leading themes of war, death and the afterlife. The narrator does an excellent job also.

Excellent characters and worldbuilding
