What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I can hardly believe this awful narration, It sounds like it's a CD going wrong. and is impossible to follow because of the incomprehensible style.

What other book might you compare Orley Farm to, and why?

As I could not get further than 10 minutes in, I liken it to two of Trollope's stories which I didn't like
Sir Harry Hotspur of Humblethwaite
Harry Heathcote of Gangoil

Would you be willing to try another one of Flo Gibson’s performances?

Definitely not

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This book is not his best. However it was almost ruined by the narrator. Her delivery was much too fast and her attempts at English dialects risible.

As always the characters are entirely believable interesting and sometimes comical. Plot is interesting, especially if you like a court case and lots of moral dilemmas raised. Great novel. Would recommend to anyone and although the narrator isn’t as strong as Timothy West who is incredible, the criticism by some of Flo Gibson is too strong, she grows on you and certainly doesn’t ruin the novel.

Great plot, great themes and morals
