On Caprona, the Land that Time Forgot, all of the world's savage past still lived. Here were dinosaurs and flying reptiles, here were the most primitive of cavemen, and the last of the Bronze Age barbarians. But there was one more secret that the claws and fangs and sharp-edged spears guarded most of all.

This is the story of the man who tried to find that final secret. When Bradley, the adventurer, dared to cross the last terrible barrier to the heart of Caprona, he entered a world of wonder, terror, and danger beyond the imagination of any man—except Edgar Rice Burroughs.

“We may have liked Verne and Wells and Kipling, but we loved, we adored, we went quite mad with Mr. Burroughs.”

Narration was very good.
Unless you have listened to, or read other books in the series, you might get a little lost. However, lots of action and a decent but totally unbelievable storyline lol

Dated but still interesting

Would you consider the audio edition of Out of Time's Abyss to be better than the print version?

As I've never seen the print I can't say. I found this on Audible and jumped at it

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed it as it finished off and closed gaps that were left open.

Have you listened to any of Brian Emerson’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No I've not but it was very good.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I just had a lost look on my face as I drifted around Caprona

Any additional comments?

A delight to find a third novel about Caprona, it tied up lose ends, brought the people that time forgot to their ultimate evolution and had a great story to boot. It was fabulous to return to the land that time forgot for an unexpected third time and I loved my return visit as much as I enjoyed my previous landings.

A delightful Find

Published over 100 years ago this book still holds up as a good read though sadly too short to really get into. The narration is well done although the characters do tend to be abit 2 dimensional (again because the story was so short). A good book for an afternoon’s distraction.

Enjoyable but over far too quickly
