Excellent!!

I am researching out natural healing and traditional medicine. This book I use as a reference for an excellent review of the art of daily living in harmony with nature and the teachings of the ancient art or Ayurvedic. The book of the part 1 reviews the science of Ayurvedic, what it is and its history, while this book (the part 2) It briefly covers its beliefs, the stages of disease, different mental and physical types, health, lifestyle, meditation, discipline, dietary guidelines, and at the end of the book A list of illnesses and herbal remedies. The Art of Ayurvedic has a very long history and not until the current day has much of it been written down. So there are things about it known but not communicated by anything other then orally by the masters in the form. Still it is nice to have something that makes the practice a little easier to understand when I don't happen to have one of those masters around.

A perfect and excellent Audible

This book is like a dictionary, you can look up health problems. If you are not a doctor or nurse, it helps you to find excellent remedies for your dialy little troubles. It advices without putting you on risk. Ayurveda is such a complex healing method over thousand of years. You can use it every day. Emily is perfect. She has a high reputation among people interested in Ayurveda. He also gives you the background to understand Ayurveda. I highly recommend the book

It's best one

Emily is an amazing writer, and so knowledgeable. This book breaks down a topic that isn't so simple, in a way that's easy to understand and gets you excited about what you're learning. The book gives you recipes, oils, practices, and routines that are catered to your own body. It opened my eyes to how important it is to find out what works for you individually, and not follow general guidelines that might not work for our body specifically. Emily is a brilliant and compassionate soul, and that really shines through in this book. Seriously a must have!

I'm impressed!!

I have personally been interested in and mildly following Ayurvedic principles for 20 years. "Practical Auyrved" by the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Center and DK books makes this very ancient and complex system far more accessible to the West. The book is easy to follow. There are lots of recipes, even a beginner realize that they can use Ayurveda to help improve their life and health. Chapters include: - Diseases of the Respiratory Tract and Treatment - Heart and Circulatory Diseases and Treatment - Nervous System Diseases and Treatment - Urinary System Diseases and Treatment - Metabolic and Joint Diseases and Treatment - Skin and Hair Diseases and Treatment The information is dense, and is not "preachy" as some Ayurvedic books are. I have a number of cookbooks, beginner's guides and even the Ayurvedic textbooks put out by Dr. Vasant Lad and the Ayurvedic Institute. The information is extremely thorough but not overwhelming. Awesome!!

This book is outstanding when it comes to home remedies and personal healing. It is easy to listen and understand. I can't find all of the products mentioned in the book. However, it does give alternatives and I can find most of the products needed. This is a must have for anyone that takes their health seriously. Really love the book and recommend it.

Outstanding!!

A comprehensive overview of an immense topic deserving of a more in-depth approach. I don't fault the author for streamlining and hitting the main points, sometimes with just some minutes of explanation for less complicated topics. This works well enough to provide the reader with a basic understanding of the main ideas of Ayurveda and I would recommend this book.
