Summary

Ayurveda is a prehistoric medical practice originated in India that has found its way into alternative contemporary practices around the globe, applying herbal compounds that are often composed of up to 50 different plants and sometimes other substances - even metals, which made this whole health system become questionable, since the heavy metals included are toxic to the human body, but then laboratory experimentations have shown that its remedies can be fused into health care systems from the western hemisphere. These herbs are not only ingested orally but sometimes rubbed on skin externally. Ayurveda also prescribes oil massages and behavioral changes, which sometimes include psychological and philosophical approaches. 

The core essence of the whole Ayurvedic system is to balance the health of a person in all directions; hence, diet upgrades are also recommended. Another keen aspect of Ayurveda covered in this book is the three doshas theory. This attempts to explain the differences in people and what is most suitable for who, what causes what, and what can lead to a relief from what. In very practical and applicable instances, Ayurveda is explained to its very core, with multiple highlights of the lifestyle directions that can be beneficial to every “dosha" type. With the practices in the field, the benefits cannot be underestimated because of the vast proofs of the efficiency and longevity over time, both culturally and even in the exported practice in different places around the globe. 

Also, the art has evolved a lot over the years, from ancient practices to well documented modern techniques. It is of no doubt that the contents are more than just mere concepts. Generally, this book serves as a map through the terrain of Ayurveda in a way understandable by everyone.

it's my first book about Ajurveda and I hated it.

it's my first book about Ajurveda and I hated it. it's extremely confusing. a lot of informations squized into a few hours book. the narrator voice is also very robotic.
I wish I didn't waste my money on this book

Terrible reading

Unfortunately it is impossible to listen to this book as the narrator makes too many mistakes in pronunciation and seems hesitant and confused. There is zero flow. A pity as I was interested in the topic.

Ayurveda is my new path, to a happy, healthy me!

I received a free copy of this audiobook, in my honest opinion. Ayurveda is fascinating! I have learned so much about myself, why I do the things I do, and why I attract the people I do. I have learned that I am both Kapha and Veta. This resonates so strongly with me. I feel the air and water elements. These are the places where I am my calmest, and where I am cleansed. I highly recommend this audiobook for anyone questioning their lives. Looking for the change, that they can not see how to find, and for those of us trying to heal, mentally and physically. I had truly never heard this term, or word before. Now I am inspired to try something new, to learn more about myself, to get back on the healthiest, happiest path, to better myself, my life, and my surroundings. What a neat spiritual journey, I can't wait to bury my own rose quartz!

Great for Ayurveda Beginner's!

I recently took an interest in Ayurvedic practices due to its health benefits - emotionally & physically. So far I've only skimmed through the audiobook. It's easy to follow along and provides an overview of Ayurveda, the ancient system of healing, it's healing methods, it's lifestyle practices, even some yoga poses! Best of all it includes healing ayurvedic recipes, medicinal herbs and remedies for common ailments. I'm all for holistic healing! I can't wait to listen to this entire audiobook.

Great informative audiobook for beginners

This audiobook gave me a lot of knowledge about Ayurveda. Where it originates from and what it is all about. I had no clue what it was and how it was to heal me. However, after listening to this audiobook, I am anxious to try most of the practices in this audiobook. This audiobook gives you an overview of the healing methods and properties of Ayurveda. It also provides a 21-Day Introduction to Ayurveda complete with a personal worksheet and recipes. Because everyone is different, there are slight changes to everything in the audiobook based on what type of person you are, and it provides a quiz in order for you to find out. So far, I love this audiobook and I am interested in taking the next step and doing the 21-Day and hopefully find an Ayurveda practitioner in my area. The author stated that she lost 30 pounds using the practices in this audiobook, I am a little skeptical, but I will try it and find out. If I do lose a lot of weight, I will write back with a great review and if I don't, then it will lose some stars.

Very interesting

I have some autoimmune issues and fibromyalgia. So I grabbed this audiobook, to help learn how to heal myself up with a more natural approach. This is a wonderful audiobook on Ayurveda and it is a Christmas gift for my spouse.

Love this audiobook

I love this audiobook! I have been wanting to begin Ayurveda and this audiobook was perfect. Easy and simple recipes and additional tips on living. Beautiful pictures and easy to follow. A must for those wanting to begin their journey

Great audioBook!

This is a great audiobook for anyone looking to learn the basics of Ayurvedic lifestyle. It has suggestions for a 21-day introduction into the lifestyle. What I like is that it offers a little more detail than what I found on YouTube but not so much info that it feels overwhelming. I have some familiarity with some of these principles but she offers the ‘why or why not to combine one thing with another. I really found this to be helpful. I’ve enjoyed listening to this audiobook and suggest it.
