Standalone, no cliffhanger

I love this book. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen but I did not. She thinks she knows what’s happening but she is just as lost as I was lol, It definitely had me tricked lol. I loved the characters and the narration was great. I recommend this book. No cliffhanger these books are standalone 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Blackmail & An Old Flame

Jojo Hudson has made her way up to become a big actress, is recently engaged to Alex, a billionaire, and her life seems perfect- at least until a ghost from her past, Ace, blackmails her and threatens to ruin her whole career and reputation with the secret she’s been keeping. I really enjoyed Jojo’s personality- she’s likeable, fun, and pretty down to Earth for someone who has made it in Hollywood. Rachel did a great job with the character development, especially the side characters, and the surprise plot twist near the end. Ace and Jojo’s “relationship” was rocky, funny, and very sweet all at the same time. We don’t get to see too much of her relationship with Alex, but I was torn between feeling bad for him and hating him. This rom-com had the right amount of angst, drama, humor, mystery, romance that makes you keep guessing everyone’s true intentions. Katlynn did a pretty good job with this narration. She spoke at a steady pace and her voice was very easy to listen to, but it did feel a little breathy at times. I loved the different voices that she used for each character and how well she could bring the story to life. *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great romance novel that hits all the right notes

I had read this in ebook form before, but listening to the audiobook brought it to life again in a fresh new way. With realistic characters, fresh quirkiness, flawed perfection and a touch of Hollywood glam, this beautifully wrapped bundle of sassy romance hit all the right notes. Sound quality was not the best ever, but the other elements that make up a great audio book more than make up for it.

Short, but not so sweet.

I thought this was going to be a predictable tale and I was shouting obscenities at the main character for being so stupid! But then the author turned me on my head, as Melissa Delport (alias Rachel Rhodes/Liss Del) is wont to do and I had to smile at my automatic assumptions. It's only a novella, just 3 hrs and 47 mins in audio, but it was the perfect length. There aren't too many characters, so it doesn't need to be a full novel, but it packs a punch. Josie (JoJo) has made her name as an actress and has now written her autobiography. It's flying off the shelves. But there is one person in her past who can ruin everything - and he's just turned up at her signing table. That's all I'm going to say. I'm not a great fan of Romance, or Hollywood razzmatazz, but even I enjoyed this. Another well read audio by Katlynn Millions.

Wow again

Rachel Rhodes writes books that make you say WOW and this one is no different. This book has so much more than a second chance romance with all of the twists and turns. And such definite characters that offer so much to the whole story. Katlynn does an awesome job with this book.

Loved it

Can't wait to listen to book 2! This book reminded me of all those romance novels I used to read when I was younger. The characters are endearing and the narration made each of them feel so real. The way the story flowed was so natural and it really got to me. I truly enjoyed it - from start to finish. It was entertaining with some funny moments perfectly contradicted with a few serious ones. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

okay story

overall the short story was okay, I listened to the story and to be honest i struggled with the audiobook and had to restarted it multiple times because the narrator was the one that actually got on my nerves and kept making me stop listening. i pushed through and enjoyed the story however next time i select a book from the author i will just get the actual book or ebook version, or sample the narrator first if i dare to try an audiobook version. Now for the story the heroine in the story writes an autobiography about herself and well she may have not been truthful and someone one from her past comes back in to her life to call her out on it and threatens to expose her on a white lie she told and to prevent him from exposing her she goes along to meet his demands, to find out how it ends well you have to read it to find out and if you want the audiobook version sample it first to see if the narrator is a right fit for you.

Good

I’ll have to say the story was good! But it was hard getting into it because of the narrator she has a good voice but she sounded too close to the Mike or something idk. I got this audio for an honest review and it was still good but I would rather the book that the audio this time. But everyone’s different so you may like the narrator.

Not what it seems in the beginning

I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review. I struggled with this book in the beginning. The whole feel of it made me uncomfortable, but I suppose that was intended by the author. I don't really know what to say about it, but it isn't at all what it seems in the beginning and the ending is at least good. I think this just isn't really my taste, but I'm sure a lot of other people will enjoy it. I enjoyed the narration.

Quick Fun Read

This was a quick fun read. I like the twist at the end, it was unexpected. I wish that Jojo was a stronger heroine and not give in to Ace so easily, after all, isn’t that why you have a Publicist to help you. Both narrator and author is new to me. I’ll definitely listen to other books by them.
