Way too technical and I like a science book- couldn’t finish
I don’t know what the hard copy of this looks like whether it has an illustration to try and get the new words to stick. It jumps straight in at the deep end. I managed an hour and couldn’t listen to any more. The narrator was ok to listen to. But this book didn’t work in this format for me. Quite happy listening to the obesity code and books like that, but this seemed overly complicated for what it was trying to convey. Try the hard copy first.

Lovely
The recommendations in the book are demanding, a lot of serious daily fasting, highly disciplined eating, and serious consistent weight training required. If you want the health benefits you’ll have to work for them. The book even delves into some philosophy on the culture of hedonism which has proliferated throughout modern society and is a primary cause of our ill health epidemic. So, there is an underlying stoicism to the scientific recommendations in this book. This is certainly not a bad thing but be well aware you’ll not be eating your cake here if you wish to have it too.

The significant contrast is the other book referenced again and again that you can eat anything you desire on the eating regimen, during your eating window. That data isn't valid. This book clarifies the eating routine great. I think the book is significant in that it causes you to break long-held musings and misguided judgments about eating and abandoning nourishment. A very helpful book!

I thought I knew a lot about autophagy. Ms. Baker took a very scientific approach in writing which was excellent. There are many 'experts' out there talking about this subject. It is helpful to have this type of info available along with the practical details on autophagy and how to achieve it.

starts strong and goes downhill
early chapters talk about cellular processes that relate to autophagy. then it takes an abrupt turn into ketosis diet rambling, a bunch of recipes and an extremely tedious section talking about every combination of hours that add to 24. seriously, I was hoping for actual references to peer reviewed research describing phases of autophagy including neurological conditions as well as musculoskeletal issues. what I found was "do what feels good for you". very disappointed.

I got excellent guidance from this book
Very technical but it also provides a very good foundation for those following a keto lifstyle. A lot of very good info on nutrition and fasting protocols.

Very up to date overview of the recent science of fasting, autophagy, and exercise. Very informative book. This approach to Intermittent Fasting is excellent! It contains a myriad of different tips and recipes of delicious dishes, which don't need your time a lot to prepare. The book is good, all information is coherent and clear, so it will be understandable even for beginners.
