A very interesting book with very useful information especially for parents with young girls with ASD. However, the narrator's performance is very bad, it needs a lot of editing. It's a shame because the content of the book is quite good but the narrator makes it difficult to follow.

It was at times painful listening to this audio book not because of the subject matter but due to the editing and narration. 3 mins in you hear the narrator mess up...and it made me lose focus. Why wasn't it edited out? The narration itself has no range its like listening to a student read out in class, she seems uncomfortable, none fluent and up and continously pronounces words wrong and attempts to fix the mess ups are obvious. It needs to be re-narrated to give the content the platform it deserves as content is informative but it's lost on the poor narration.

I’m sure this is going to be thorough and well-researched book but I’ve only got 8 mins 40 secs in before the first unedited retake. The narration could use a little warming up too, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

As someone with autistic, female family members this book rung true and had lots of practical advice. However, I was left thinking that the girls have been sold short. Lots of focus on dealing with puberty, friendships, school etc... and rather repetitive and slow. Perhaps this would be more useful for a family that only has young autistic girls rather than a family that has had to learn the hard way and has older family members with ASD. I may be wrong but it was lacking focus on our minds which are just as interesting as the boys’ minds. I had to stop listening part way through. I much prefer Sarah Hendrickx’s “Women and girls with autism spectrum disorder”.
