John Woods spent his life trying not to be noticed. Now, the survival of humanity depends on it.

John was having an ordinary day in London when demon-spewing portals tore the world apart. The System arrives, transforming the city into a deadly trial of monsters and dungeons where power can be earned.

And John discovers he has a unique path: Aura.

The more impressive his actions, the more Aura he gains. The more he falters, the more he loses. With enough Aura, he can unlock permanent upgrades, attributes, spells, and skills that could carry him through a world rapidly descending into chaos.

For someone who has spent most of his life avoiding attention, becoming a hero may be the last thing he wants.

But if he wants to survive, John will need Aura. Lots and lots of Aura.

Aura Farming is a darkly humorous LitRPG apocalypse, perfect for fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl and He Who Fights with Monsters.

Initially took this book up as a palate cleanser between other series i was following as i saw it promoted on a subreddit. Developed enjoying this on its own and it is a fun book overall with really nice progression for a book that is itself almost parodying the concept of aura farming.

1 observation I'd point out is that the main character doesn't fail enough after the initial first few chapters when he encounters people. For someone who is supposed to have spent his entire life being society inept and anxious, somehow always nailing the one liners for aura farming even by mistake is improbable especially once others are involved. But it changes half way again so it balances out again.

Anyway great book which hits the humerous tones well!

Solid humerous book on the classic system apocalypse theme

The story excels at its power system, while also being surprisingly deep with its characters. If you like system apocalypse, it’s a must read!
