Summary

Kaitlyn Parker has no problem being the invisible girl, which is why she finds herself hiding in various cabinets and closets all over her college campus. Despite her best efforts, she can't escape the notice of Martin Sandeke - bad boy, jerkface bully, and the universe's hottest, wealthiest, and most unobtainable bachelor - who also happens to be Kaitlyn's chemistry lab partner.

Kaitlyn might be the only girl who isn't interested in exploiting Martin's stunning rower's build, chiseled features, and family's billionaire fortune. Kaitlyn wants Martin for his brain, specifically to tabulate findings of trace elements in surface water.

When Kaitlyn saves Martin from a nefarious plot, Martin uses the opportunity to push Kaitlyn out of her comfort zone: spring break, one week, house parties, bathing suits, and suntan lotion. Can she overcome her aversion to being noticed? Will he be able grow beyond his self-centered nature? Or, despite their obvious chemistry, will Martin be the one to drive Kaitlyn into the science cabinet of obscurity for good?

Contains mature themes.

NOTHING LIKE KEEPING YOU HANGING ON!!!

Nothing like keeping you hanging on for the next book. Once I got through all the weird/strange monologue and listened to the good parts of the story it ended abruptly. I hate it when books do that to you, at least it could have given you a little more of what next to expect. Plus why in every book you read when a girl finds a guy making out with another girl they walk away???? Why don't they confront them at the time??? Put them on the spot?? Just once I would love to read a story to see what the guy does and what excuse he makes up and to see how both girls react - the one he's cheating on and the one he is cheating with!
Anyway this is a good story regardless of the strange main girl of the book so I plan on purchasing the next book. I guess that's what they want you to do to make the money. But just saying.....it sucks!!!!

Ardent Penny Reid Fan, but so mad re: cliffhanger

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Well... I love the Knitting in the City AND the Winston Bro's books, so I was a little disappointed in this book. The writing was somewhat immature, and seemed to be missing the Penny Reid sophisticated wit... BUT, what really, really bummed me out was the cliffhanger! I was sooo disappointed in Ms. Reid - cliffhangers are below her.

Would you recommend Attraction: Elements of Chemistry to your friends? Why or why not?

I would not, but only because of the cliffhanger.... you have to pay another $30+ to find out what happens. I won't do it because I am diametrically opposed to buying three books to get one story. I should have done my research before buying the first story, so that is on me!

What would have made this romance irresistible?

To finish the story.

Any additional comments?

Perhaps this was early work by Ms. Reid, as her other books are thorough and complete. I love series, not three books to finish one story.

A story steeped in rape culture

I tried to like this story but couldn’t get over the squick factor of the lead male constantly ignoring the “no’s” of the lead female.
Yes she was physically enjoying the attention but there was no respect for her decisions. It isn’t romantic it’s stalking. It isn’t romantic to show up uninvited to a dorm room at 7am it is breaking and entering. The conceit that it is okay because he’s hot and she thinks he’s hot is not cool. This type of fiction is why guys think a “no” isn’t always a no and why girls think it isn’t rape if she orgasmed. Consent is important. Stories are important. This one propagates rape culture.

Attraction

Nice book to spend an afternoon with. It ended with a cliffhanger, so I was disappointed with that aspect.

College hookups and geeky girls

A young inexperienced girl overhears a threat to her lab partner. She passed the context of the threat on, but ends up the focus of the wealthy male which was the target.
She has limited knowledge on dating and relationships. The nerd point of view is amusing, but gut wrenching when she is caught in a heart breaking situation.

Warning: cliffhanger ending!

cute. Don't hate it. I want to see what happens. I'm rooting for Kaitlyn and Martin I guess. I have never read anything by this author. I like it.

It's not for you if you hate cliffhangers

This was a college, sports romance. Martin is quite and kind of broody and Kaitlyn is shy and awkward and mostly hate people. Martin and Kaitlyn have been lab partners for two sessions but unusual circumstances brings them to talk and Martin convinces her to join him on a tropical item.
I loved Martin's slightly alpha side and Kaitlyn's attempts to mask her attraction to Martin.

Meh.

I don’t know about this story but something was lacking for me. The audio narrator is pretty good but I guess the characters just jump in the guns, just a lot of groping and kissing...there wasn't much plot, not enough development of history of Martin & Kaitlyn for me. So, it’s probably why for me, they weren’t truly likable...well, I truly didn’t like Martin, his personality, tbh. Meh...Once you listen/read this book, you will want to read the next book considering it’s a cliffhanger ending. Sadly to say, I didn’t careless about them and therefore, I might just not read the rest of the series.
