Great graphic audio adaptation

This is a great graphic audio adaptation of a wonderful comicbook. I read the comic years ago and when I saw it had been adapted in this format I jumped right on it. I was not disappointed. Joss Whedon's signature style comes through loud and clear in this version.

In case you're unfamiliar with graphic audio: this is not an unabridged book of any kind, it's a radio drama. Complete with a full cast of voice actors, sound effects, and music.

As someone that read the original

I really enjoyed it. It instantly took me back to the cartoons. The cast and performances paint the perfect picture. Some of the dialogue is questionable but nothing that can't be overlooked.

I didn't know who would buy this over the comic but the cast is worth it alone and the story has alot less filler.

Pretty Good, worth a credit

Good story, performance was pretty good as well. Whoever voiced kitty pryde went a little too over the top at times, especially one time that seemed to last forever and almost became humorous. Story is in continuity, which I like.

The additional performances do the book no favors

The music, overacting, and sound effects popped me right out of the narrative. This is probably a "me" thing, not a general audience thing, but - still - the result was grating and headache enducing. YMMV.

The book itself is a decent novelization of Joss Whedon's "Gifted" storyline from Astonishing X-men. If you're familiar with Peter David's other novelizations, novels, and comics, it's written in the same style, but without forced punnage and wordplay.

well done

A very good performance overall. The voice cast had done well portraying their characters and I have enjoyed the sound effects for some of the more obscure abilities, especially Kitty Pryde's.

Hope they adapt the rest of the Astonishing X-men

This adaptation of Astonishing X-Men adds a lot of scenes that take place between the panels of the comics. Highly recommend if you were a fan of the X-Men.
