Summary

“I inhaled this sexy, gritty, thrilling new series and I can’t wait for more!” (Lara Adrian, New York Times best-selling author)

I knew the minute I saw him that Levi Agozi was too perfect to be real. I didn't care. He came to me, asked for me, and, dazzled by his dark good looks and the bad-boy aura surrounding him, I gave in. Willingly.

My father is set to become the next governor of Georgia, and he'll use me to get there if he has to. He'll hand me over to the man with the biggest bank account and political pull.

I wanted something more.

I wanted Levi. And I had him - until I woke up, disoriented and confused, at his mercy. He’s a bad boy, all right. A sexy, deadly assassin. And I'm the pawn torn between him and my father, two powerful men intent on destroying each other.

I might not understand their war, but I do understand one thing: No matter who wins, I lose.

With duet narration

Good story but let down by recording

From chapter 11 the voices go funny like a lisp or very dissatisfied because it put me off and didn’t fit the characters

OMG what a story

From chapter one, I was hooked. I wasn’t expecting what happened to happen. And the last few chapters left me thinking “what the…” I really didn’t see that coming

The narrator combination was absolutely spot on. Though Jason Clarke could make reading a grocery shopping list sexy

ReviewAudio received from Audibly Addicted for an honest audio review

Assassin's Mark was my first Ella Sheridan book, and I am now keen to read more of this series.

I am still unsure how I feel about Levi at this stage. Would it be too much for the man to apologise for the crap that he has put Abby through

And why oh why did Abby have to be a virgin on top of everything else? Just no, we're over that trope ok?

I did like the closeness of the Agozi brothers - and I hope that the other brothers find their HEA. I hope that what has happened in this book is leading where I think it is for one particular brother.

Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter brought this tale to life. There is something so smooth about Clarke's voice that I can't help but want to listen to more.

At times, and this is probably just a me thing, Hunter did come across as a lot younger than the character, but it wasn't all the time. This is most likely just my weird mind though!

I do look forward to listening to more of this author, and these narrators in the future.

What a ride we are on!

Ella Sheridan knows how to write romantic suspense! The perfect mixture of thrills, tension and passion had me from the beginning. This is the first book in Levi and Abby's story and it's told from Abby's point of view. Catching the eye of the very handsome Levi seemed like a good idea. But Abby had no reason to believe there was something more sinister than a one night stand in store for her. Levi has kidnapped the daughter of the prospective governor of Virginia. What he didn't plan on was a spunky, fighter that spiked his passion. These two have chemistry that you cannot miss. Now Abby is going to have to choose between her father and the love she has found. With an intriguing cast of characters, the spin of politics and fear of the choices to come, we have a story that kept me listening straight through!

And to make it even better, we have narration in duet by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter! This is an incredible team. Clarke shows his versatility with playing the bad boy so well. He gives Levi an dangerous edge and I loved it! Hunter is such a rare find in the narrator world, she can literally narrate any character! I love her as Abby, all strength and fierceness that leads to her uncertainty and passion. All felt with the words of these two. Audibly Addicted knows how to cast their productions and this is a winner!

Assassin's Mark

Jason Clarke Assassin? Duet? Stella Hunter? Yes Please.

I didn't know what to expect at all from this title - as the above was all I knew, and I knew I was in.

The story was intriguing, assassins, politics, kidnapping, intrigue. You're not quite sure how it's going to play out.

I enjoyed this listen, my only sadness was that it was all in Abby's POV, which means not as much Jason as you'd like, or Jason's thoughts in any scenes.

AN ADDICTIVE, CHEMISTRY-FUELLED STORY

This review is for both books and believe me when I say you might as well get book 2 along with this one because you won’t be let down with the well-balanced story. Or the interesting loveable layered characters, the animal attraction, the suspenseful power-play with intrigue and twists, the heat with hunger and the five star awesome narration which brought it and the feels to life. Intense friction and fire sizzled and sparked between the emotionally closed-off Assassin Levi and his prey Abby.. and the addictive pawn/kidnap plot-line builds and builds and fuses to form an unbreakable bond between them as character growth lowers Levi’s once impenetrable walls. There’s also great dynamics between the three brothers Levi, Eli and Remi whose lives and livelihoods had been born from betrayal and bloodshed. This book is told from Abby’s POV in duet-style narration mainly by Stella Hunter who was great.. and book 2 continues their relationship and their plight from Levi’s POV with the very talented Jason Clarke narrating (love you Jason) who always delivers five star drool-worthy perfection. WORTH A CREDIT? A very definite YES for both books.

Hit the Mark

Interesting semi dark (wish it was even darker) and sexy story about revenge and justice. Hot Assassin falls for his mark. Love those kinds of stories. My only complaint is I wish it was told dual POV it would have been nice to hear his thoughts throughout the book. The dialogue was really good so that did help.

I really enjoyed the narration of this book. Duet is the best and Jason Clark's voice is always on point Stella Hunter's performance was good too and that is a very good thing since she essentially narrates the book.

Overall it was a nice listen.

Brilliant Dark Suspense Romance!

Assassin’s Mark is a great start to Ella Sheridan’s Assassin’s series, I loved Levi and Abby and am a huge suck for the captive falling for their Kidnapper trope. The story was really enjoyable with a lot of suspense and twists. The dual narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter was very well done. This is the first book I have listened to by Ella Sheridan and I woiuld definitely be willing to listen to more of her future releases!

Hot and sweet

When I first saw Jason Clarke was a narrator in this book and that this was a duet narration, I hit that "buy" button immediately. The overall reviews were very positive. However, I'm disappointed to say that there wasn't enough of Jason. The book is told from Abby's POV and Jason just narrates the male lines. Before you read, keep in mind that Abby was raised spoiled and some of her comments are naïve and a bit cheesy. She can come off a bit wimpy and damsel-y. I didn't really care much for her, but she's a good "opposite" for Levi who is downright broody. The intimate scenes were hot, which I assume made for the 5/5 stars for majority of the reviews rather than actual story content, and the storyline was good. The pacing was steady, but towards the end, it was a little fast.

Jason Clarke is one of my favorite male narrators because he expresses emotion very well. He doesn't just "read" the lines, he acts with it. I believe this is my first time hearing Stella Hunter. She did a good job, but there were parts where she "read" the lines and had no real emotion to it. I wouldn't object to listening to another book she'd narrate, though. When she was voicing the credits, it sounded like she was relieved that it was all over. LOL She has a nice voice and I think she would be great for romantic comedy books.

I don't have a sudden need to listen to the next book, although it looks like it may be told from Levi's POV. Not sure, haven't read the reviews yet. Overall, this one's a good listen.

Deliciously Dangerous & Action Packed!

I received an Advanced Listeners Copy of Assassin's Mark in exchange for an honest review. It snagged me right away. Levi is mysterious, handsome, and sexy as sin, but he just oozes danger. Over time we get to experience him opening up to the possibility of more, and it's an excellent ride! Abby starts out as a very timid woman who has been controlled with a heavy hand her whole life. When they danced I had goosebumps because you can feel her waking up to what she might want for herself, when she starts finding her backbone and sense of self preservation. Some of the first words out of Levi's mouth (spoken in that super growly sexy voice by Jason Clarke) slayed me! This story is action packed and will twist and turn you. When you think you know what's going on, hold tight...

Narration in Duet is my favorite and this book delivers with Jason voicing all of the male parts and Stella voicing all of the female parts. This book is from Abby's point of view. Stella has such a soothing, sensuous voice that you can really get lost in the story. Jason is fantastic, as always, in his variation between the male characters in this performance. You can easily follow and know who is speaking, which really adds to the story. Get lost in this one and strap in tight because this series will be a wild ride! The antihero brothers are sexy as sin and they will have their hands full with the ladies in this series. I'm looking forward to all 4 books on audio!

must read or better still listen to Jason & Stella

Firstly, Ella Sheridan has delivered the perfect balance of adrenaline, suspense and romance, which I couldn’t put down. I have to admit I have previously read this book, when Ella first released it. As soon, as I started listening to Jason Clarke (Levi) and Stella Hunter (Abby), it certainly made me want to re-read the following books in this series.

This story revolves around Levi Agozi and Abby Roslyn. Levi is an assassin out for revenge against the vile corrupted Councilman, Derek Roslyn. Abby (the innocent councilman’s daughter) is caught up in the game between them. The connection between Levi and Abby is undeniable and off the charts.

Ella has written this story; were you certainly feel all the emotions coming off the page. The story will have you crying, laughing, heart breaking and many more emotions. This story is told from Abby’s point of view.

Do yourself a favour and read or listen to this now.

This book was hard to finish

The narration was good, nothing wrong there. But the story, it was sooooo annoying!!

The female lead is really really really fucking annoying and stupid, and weak. I could not stand her. Spoiled, weak and stupid. Honestly the entire book all she does is go on and on in her inner dialog about how HOT Levi is. & she doesn't even stand up for herself, nor does she correct or call out Levi's behaviour. This book was not worth my credit. The 6 hours was waayyyy too long for how annoying her character is. No real development, and def not purchasing the 2nd book.

I will do the second book

It was a good book. Wasn’t as dark as I usually like my books. But it was a cute HEA with a tad bit of dark. It was a little mystery with only a few unpredictable events.

Good book, not sure the story can last 3 books

This was a good listen, the premise caught my eye and I did enjoy the listen. HOWEVER, I do not think the story merits three books. I am not a fan of cliffhangers. In this case all of the books are readily available for purchase. However, I am disappointed that it will take two more installments to get the rest of the story.
