Yet the gifts and talents of some of our most brilliant kids may never be recognized because these children fall into a group known as twice exceptional, or "2e". Twice exceptional kids are both gifted and diagnosed with a disability - often ADHD or an autism spectrum disorder - leading teachers and parents to overlook the child's talents and focus solely on his weaknesses.

We'll investigate what it is, what typifies it, and how you can recognize it more easily. Moreover, aside from all these causes, symptoms, and origins, we'll delve into some solutions that, unfortunately, don't completely fix the brain or cure the quaint traits of such individuals, but do, however, help alleviate suffering by tackling issues that relate to the disorder.

Summary
Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger disorder (AD) or simply Asperger's, is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development.
Many people are afflicted with and suffer from Asperger's, and there is little to no understanding by the general public in regards to this syndrome. There is a lack of awareness, so when people encounter someone who has Asperger's they view them strangely because aspies (as they commonly refer to themselves) act and communicate differently from the rest of society, so they are easily misunderstood.
In his book entitled Asperger Syndrome, author and Asperger expert Frank Ryan offers a comprehensive guide for understanding, living with, and treating Asperger syndrome.
Here are some of the topics covered:
- Detailed overview and history of Asperger syndrome
- Effects of the syndrome on social interactions
- Effects of the syndrome on behavior and interests
- Effects of the syndrome on speech and language
- Effects of the syndrome on motor and sensory perception
- Therapies and medication
- Alternative therapies and treatments
- Available aids
- Children who suffer from Asperger
- Adults who suffer from Asperger
- How to deal with and manage a loved one who has Asperger

Too Factual and monotonously narrated
Though the book provided good fav s and information, I personally found it hard to concentrate the way it was narrated. The narrator spoke so monotonous that it just seemed so dry and boring it was hard to stay focussed. I tend to like audio books so I can have efficient learning while doing other things like travelling or walking or commuting. For this one it may be best to be still and focus and in that case I think the standard book version and reading it myself would have been more effective.

Very Informative but Narrator Sounds Whistley
What did you love best about Asperger Syndrome: A Comprehensive Guide for Understanding, Living With, and Treating Asperger Syndrome?
The book has very good information, but I had trouble listening to the audio book because of the constant whistling sound of the narrators voice. Tried slowing down the speed and speeding up - neither helped.

Hurts my ears
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I was so disappointed to find a terrible whistle in the voice of the reader. The content is good, not great, but I can only take it in small doses. It is painful to listen to.

May be good info, but the narrator is atrocious
I was hopeful for the info that I would get from this book and ignored the negative reviews that were mostly centered on the narrator, thinking that I would be able to ignore any issues. After starting the book, the narrator and his annunciation has made it unable for me to get through this short book. I will be returning this and getting something else.
