Summary

Corey Taylor has seen a lot of unbelievable things. The Grammy Award-winning singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour's curiosity has drawn him into situations that would’ve sent most people screaming scared and running for the hills.

Corey’s ballsy enough to go into the darkness and deal with the consequences, though. As a result, he’s seen ghosts up close and personal, whether it be while combing through an abandoned house in his native Iowa as a child or recording an album in the fabled Houdini Hollywood Hills mansion. He’s also got the memories (and scars) to prove it. For some reason, he can’t seem to shake these spectral stories, and that brings us to this little tome right here....

At the same time, being an erudite, tattooed, modern Renaissance Man, he never bought into the whole God thing. Simply put, he’s seen ghosts, but he hasn’t seen Jesus. Corey especially can’t find a reason why people do the insane things they do in HIS name. That’s where everything really gets interesting.

His second book, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven, compiles Corey’s most intimate, incredible, and insane moments with the supernatural. His memories are as vivid as they are vicious. As he recounts these stories, he questions the validity of religious belief systems and 2,000-year-old dogma.

As always his rapid-fire writing, razor-sharp sense of humour, unbridled honesty, and cosy anecdotes make quite the case for his point. You might end up believing him or not. That’s up to you, of course. Either way, you’re in for a hell of ride.

The outrageous sequel to Corey Taylor's Seven Deadly Sins is now available as an audiobook.

Well worth it!

I own all his books in physical forms but hearing them read from the man himself is definitely worth it!

Corey is at it again!

Took me a while to get into this one, but Corey does hit his stride after a couple of chapters. His delivery was a lot better than his first book, which was also great, and I hope his other 2 are of the same quality, if not better.
Corey Taylor has some stories to tell and I know for a fact there is plenty left in the tank.
Well read and brilliantly put.

Knot for Sceptics

Huge fan of this man in all of his escapades, and I thoroughly enjoyed seven deadly sins. I was apprehensive about this one as I firmly don't believe in ghosts, but I gave it a go as CMFT can spin a yarn with deft and acerbic humour. Whilst I did enjoy his rhetoric I was left a bit empty by the subject matter as it clearly wasn't written for non-believers. Try one of his other books, which I am certainly going to do, if you don't enjoy flights of fancy concerning shadows and things moving.

Probably helps if you are a fan already...

I wasn’t. Picked it because I like paranormal books. But this one is dull. Rambling. Patronising at times. This guy has an attitude.

Loved it!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who had these thoughts, also not the only one who had this energy theory bubbling away in my head. thoroughly recommend if you have an interest in the paranormal and an open mind. hell I'd recommend if you just enjoy a good ghost story :)

Good read/listening to

It was like sitting in a room with Corey Taylor and listening to him telling his stories. I really enjoyed this book. I lived with "imprints of departed souls" ;) (ghosts) too and I totally agree with Corey about the energies left behind. If you like a ghost stories with a rock star way of telling them, grab some drink of your choice, make yourselves cosy and press "play".

thought provoking

once again Corey narrates as he speaks so that you think you are in a debate rather than being talked at.

Corey had an intelligent and compelling view on the subjects herein and leaves you thinking how did a kid with little education and his upbringing get so insightful .

A brilliant book even if you do not like his bands.

Another hit.

Another brilliant book by Corey Taylor. I love how he has the ability to give an idea AND be able to fully explain himself to the listener. Found myself hanging on his every word in the various stories from his life included in this book. Very good book. Very interesting man.
