An easy read but I hate cliffhanger endings. I will give the sequel a chance but doubt I'll be invested in any more than that

Fun but Tropey

The narrator sounded exactly like Chris Griffin from Family Guy. It was really off putting. I tried to ignore it at first but eventually it was too hard to ignore. I couldn’t even focus on the story because of his voice.

Also the narrator needs to work on his pronunciation of non-white names. The name “Anjali” is pronounced “Un-juh-li” - NOT “Ann-jah-lee” like the narrator repeatedly mispronounced.

I ended up just reading the story on kindle unlimited as opposed to listening to it. The story was excellent! Fast paced, full of adventure, a great protagonist and antagonist. I would recommend the author picking a different narrator for their next novel.

A strong storyline with good characters. There’s lots to like about this story, especially if you like solid military history with clear heroes and villains.

The artefact is an amazing book which I highly recommend. If you like your science fiction, ancient civilisations, alien conspiracies, and a bit of military thrown in the mix then this book is definitely up your street and absolutely fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. You know it’s a good read when you can’t wait to get back to it and don’t want to put it down. This is one of those and I hope you enjoy.
