A Journey She Did Not Choose Will Change Her Life Forever

Transported surreptitiously to a terrifying alien world, with limited resources and only a few cryptic words to guide her, Callie Hayes finds herself engulfed in a perilous battle for freedom – for her very life. After agreeing to participate in a routine psychology research experiment, she must unravel the mysteries shrouding her only route of escape or risk succumbing to the deadly deception of the Arena.

A mesmerizing journey through the treacherous terrain of a strange and terrifying world. A powerful allegory that will capture your imagination with its timelessness and aching familiarity. “A classic in the making for the modern era, with appeal for fans of C.S. Lewis and Kathy Tyers, this is required for all collections.” — Library Journal
“A progression of faith by trial somewhat like Pilgrim’s Progress… [Hancock’s] theological argument, while certainly Christian, is quite subtle… She can take her place in the wave of fine science fiction coming from evangelical presses these days.” — Booklist
“The genuinely enthralling mix of adventure, romance, and vivid imagery fused with spiritual symbolism invites readers to lose themselves in Hancock’s imaginary world… engrossing and well-paced.” — Christianity Today
“Arena sets a benchmark for contemporary allegory—thoroughly imagined, intelligently written, and as vivid as last night’s unsettling dreams. Well done!” — Kathy Tyers, author of the Firebird series, Star Wars: Balance Point, and Star Wars: Truce at Bakura
(Kathy Tyers)
“Through vibrant description and well-paced action, Karen Hancock creates a compelling world of both horror and hope. Arena gives Christian fantasy lovers something to cheer about.” — Brandilyn Collins, bestselling author of Eyes of Elisha
“An allegory for the third millennium! If you liked Pilgrim’s Progress and The Matrix, then you’ll love Arena.” — Randall Ingermanson, co-author of Oxygen (Randall Ingermanson)
“Karen Hancock’s intense story is an excellent though edgy contribution to the genre.” — Publishers Weekly

Starts a bit low engaging and progresses as it goes on... the descriptions of active places and characters could be better (6.5/10). Everything else is exeptional (10/10), great character development, engaging dialogue, great job with the allergies, nice twists, and a good ending, predictable but well pictured with anticipation and familiarity, for some reasons nostalgic. Overall I enjoyed this book, Well done. Recommend
