Summary

An original novel set in the universe of Star Trek: Voyager, from the New York Times best-selling author!

As the Federation starship Voyager continues to lead the Full Circle Fleet in its exploration of the Delta Quadrant, Admiral Kathryn Janeway remains concerned about the Krenim Imperium and its ability to rewrite time to suit its whims. At Captain Chakotay's suggestion, however, she orders the fleet to focus its attention on a unique planet in a binary system where a new element has been discovered. Several biospheres exist on this otherwise uninhabitable world, each containing different atmospheres and features that argue other sentient beings once resided on the surface. Janeway hopes that digging into an old-fashioned scientific mystery will lift the crews' morale, but she soon realizes that the secrets buried on this world may be part of a much larger puzzle - one that points to the existence of a species whose power to reshape the galaxy might dwarf that of the Krenim.

Meanwhile, Lieutenants Nancy Conlon and Harry Kim continue to struggle with the choices related to Conlon’s degenerative condition. Full Circle’s medical staff discovers a potential solution, but complications will force a fellow officer to confront her people’s troubled past and her own future in ways she never imagined....

Very enjoyable story with a Dr that really ticked me off

This was a very enjoyable story with an interesting story line and interesting characters. There was however a dr who’s arrogance really ticked me off, her belief that she was right and another species were wrong. When I first heard this I thought the writer had that belief but gladly they did not

great story!

A very star trek story from beggining to end. Very much enjoyed it. Felt like a classic TNG story with a Voyager twist. I really wish however that Simon and Schuster would stop picking random star trek stories from a series. this one picks up on book 6 or 7 I think of the pocket Voyager series. there isn't to much you have to already know but it's just weird to not start from the beggining. I dont have time to read physical books so just forced to read the synopsis of what happened before.

Great Story

I'm so glad they are releasing Star Trek books in unabridged format. This was a great story with a fascinating new set of problems and a hell of a cliffy. I can't wait to see where the story goes next! The narrator was amazing. She did a fantastic job capturing the characters we know and love from the show, especially Janeway and The Doctor.

Boring

Nobody loves Star Trek Voyager more than I. I've ready literally every book. But this one is so dull and lifeless. Classic Voyager was action packed. Miss Beyer has managed to make it turgid. The narrator didn't help either. And can we please just dump the whole alternate timeline fiasco and just pretend you never tried to kill off Janeway?

Great narration, great story to continue Voyager.

Great narration, and the story is a great Star Trek adventure continuing Voyager.
Though sometimes elements of the story seemed to drag a bit (details of the interpersonal relationships of non-central characters) it paid off well and tied up the story very well.
The story pays about equal attention to central characters from the series and to characters not present in the show, but that actually turned into a nice surprise and seems to expand on the world of Voyager in an interesting way.
It should be known to Audible only consumers that this book is apparently part of a series, seems to take place after some events concerning these characters and the end sets up the next book.
This wasn't a problem though because the end ties up THIS story well and makes you want the next right away!
I hope that they do more Audible books in this series, and/or more stories about Voyager.
I would also hope that the narrator does more Star Trek stories in the future, she was fantastic and really helps to immerse you into the world of Voyager years after the end of the story in the show.

Warp back to Delta Quadrant with the Voyager crew!

This is a great story that continues the USS Voyager's exploration of the Delta Quadrant after it's return to Earth. I've always wondered what happened to so many of the characters that I loved so much. This story is well performed and gives us a chance to catch up with those characters!

Make sure you block extra time to listen to this great story because I'm spending much more time than I planned during each listening session. Who knew that 11 hours of unabridged audio could go by so quickly!

Star Trek as it used to be

A great story reminding me of the novels prior. If there is any one thing to improve it would be adding more sound effects. The story takes us there the sounds of computers or warp engines completes the picture playing in the mind. Ms. LaVoy your Janeway is top notch!

Excruciating

I am a huge fan of Star Trek and like ST: Voyager, but this was a difficult listen.
This is just my opinion, but there was very little that I found enjoyable about this book.
