Summary
Sir Roger Parkes is a man of some influence in the West Country. When he loses touch with his youngest daughter, he has a word with the Assistant Chief Constable of the local force. It's not a police matter, he is told, but if Sir Roger wants to pursue it privately, there is a lady who might be able to help-two of them, actually.
As far as Summer Lane is concerned, she has enough problems without going into the investigations business with her next door neighbor; Mrs. Emily Willows's problems all seem to center around the fact that her neighbor is refusing to go into the investigations business with her. They have reached, it seems, an impasse. Until, that is, Emily notices that someone has left a message on her answering machine . . .

Outstanding listen
I had to listen to all three of these books well written, great characters and a gripping story line , they do come to a conclusion but you what to hear more about the characters next exploits looking forward to the next book

Enjoyed !
I have been waiting a long time for this latest instalment in this series. It did not disappoint . The characters and story line are developing nicely hope it’s not 4 years until the next one !

Enjoyable read
Read all three Willows and Lane books in quick succession: gripping action, likeable protagonists. Enjoyed stories that find purpose for people

Love these stories
However, I did find it a bit confusing at the beginning with the jumping back and forth, but it sorted itself out. Looking forward to the next instalment I hope!

Great storyline
I hope Mr Grainger will bring Emily and Summer back together. I’ve enjoyed the 3 audiobooks very much.

Not to the normal Peter Grainger standard
I persevered with this book as I have enjoyed all of the other Peter Grainger books but the story was weak in comparison to his others. This seems like it might be the last of the Willows and Lane series. The DC Smith series and King's Lake investigation series are far better - particularly DC Smith.
