A fascinating and detailed listen!

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is something I have been interested in for quite some time. As I struggle occasionally with depression and my husband has a tough battle with it every day, I wanted to know more about something that could help us both. To see the silver lining. I've been looking for a simple, ea As a disabled woman, it's easy to feel depressed and anxious. Negative thoughts about my self and societal worth are frequently present, and it's very easy to fall into the trap of believing my limitations are catastrophic and unchangeable.

Very helpful in Anxienty.

I think this is a great book to help a person address anxiety issues, including various strategies and tools. While I do not suffer from anxiety myself, my mother has almost crippling anxiety, and I plan to use the information in this book to try to help her back to a more healthy perspective. It was great learning about techniques dealing with anxiety and depression and the author/therapist helps the reader understand it and ways to cope with it. In every way in daily life, it can be dealt with. I have a different view now concerning anxiety

Good to know if you suffer anxiety.

I found this book particularly helpful. I am a special education teacher. I deal with students that have anxiety and behavioral issues. I found this book had many helpful steps I could take in which to help my students understand why they are having their thoughts and behaviors and alo different approaches on how to deal with them I've done some cognitive behavior therapy in the past with a therapist and I found that to be very helpful. I hadn't done any of the methods in a while and wanted to do something a little more self-guided.

A book that really helps

I'm not a fan of self help books but this came highly recommended. It truly does aid one in identifying causes and triggers of phobias and anxiety. AND it gives you effective ways to overcome them. Got this book for a friend that suffers from anxiety and phobias. We live in a rural area and it's hard to get doctor appointments. It truly did help me understand anxiety and methods for suppressing it. Extremely practical guide to unearthing, feeling, understanding, and expressing your feelings. I was given the chapter on assertiveness by a therapist and found there is so much more to it. Everyone who feels overwhelmed and resistant to intermingling with people should read this.

A Great Tool For Anyone!!

The Anxiety was a great read for many reasons. It read more like a brochure than an actual book. Looking for information about this, I found this set of books. In this book you get some idea about how to train our brain to eliminate anxiety. If you are curious to learn more about anxiety, panic attacks, etc. or hoping to retrain your anxious thoughts, I highly recommend this book. It helps you rationalize and think-through your anxious thoughts and find ways to tolerate the anxiety. This book works, plain and straightforward. I have no longer an issue with nervousness and this book got me there. I observed this book to be extremely usefu

I get particularly anxious when I go to events relating to my work and I now realise that it is down to a lack of confidence in myself, as a consequence of this I have been finding ways to avoid them. I am going to try the gradual approach to exposure and work from there.

Great go to guide!!

I have suffered from anxiety since I can remember, but I did not notice what it might be until I became an adult. My body would just give out and all I could do was stay to myself and sleep. With my condition I tend to tighten my muscles in my neck and shoulder when I was out in public or in a crowd, resulting in Severe Muscle Tension. I was not sleeping at night because I could not relax enough to not think about the next day.I experience it myself and found this book helpful. It's instructive, but in a very casual way that I really liked.
