Summary

“Us. We’re okay, aren’t we, mukka?” (Jack Harrison)

Video footage of Jack sleeping with Cutter, a man who mutilated teenagers for his own sadistic streak, should have stayed dead and buried with the man who had filmed it. Yet when footage of Jack’s past starts appearing on internet porn sites, Jack’s whole world is again turned on its head. At first the porn links are done to unsettle, to disrupt Jack’s fire-and-ice world: all the sexed-up adrenaline of being caught between the pleasure of Gray Raoul’s BDSM kink and the gentleness of Jan Richards’ vanilla touch. But when the content of the porn sites force even Gray to turn his back on Jack, leaving Jack isolated and away from the full protection of the Masters’ Circle, Jack is left at the mercy of a group of men who are out to alter Jack’s whole perception on his BDSM lifestyle and the reality of being Jack Harrison.

As brutally as possible, Jack’s sex life is now a live webcam feed for a whole new audience.

Wow. This book goes deep.

This book had me on the edge pretty much all the way through. It’s a very graphic book with the rawness needed to show what a survivor goes through. Not all love stories are clean and sweet, some are built on survival and support. This book is not for everyone but it has opened my eyes and mind to what and why people act after abuse. Jack, you have helped me more than you could know. Dan gives an amazing performance.

Dark

I enjoyed book 1 but I really enjoyed listening to book 2. Subject matter is not light and fluffy but very dark, oh and that twist I did not see coming.... Now straight on to book 3...

Faultless

I started this after reading and listening to the discretionary warnings and got through the first few chapters effortlessly. Then...bam! I put my Fire and ebook copy aside, read and listened to a bit more the next day, and the next, then reached that point where I couldn't stop. I don't know what it is. The writing is faultless and I'm thoroughly invested in the 3 main characters (Jan is my favourite). The development of the plot is breathtaking and I lived every minute of it. The chance to see a more "human" Gray is worth waiting for. I did realise who is behind things and the probable reasoning fairly early on, but it didn't spoil my enjoyment. Narrator Dan Calley is excellent once again. I love all his different voices, even the female ones, and I swear I hear Jack's "f" word in my sleep! I have both the audiobook and ebook of Book 3 already and can't wait to see where things go.

Raw emotional journey

This second book in the series had me on the edge of my seat from the start. It is not a book for those easily upset by the dark themes included. It is so well written you cannot help but feel the pain of Jack, Gray and Jan as they experience the torture, abuse and mind games designed to pull them apart. The question is are they strong enough to get through it and can their love keep them together or mean they are better alone?

👀😯😬😣😤😵😍 just a snippet of my emotions whilst listening

I received this audiobook by the author and this is my honest opinion.
Oh My God ! what an intense listen. The boys certainly went through the motions in this book which I knew was going to happen but flipping heck it really brought it home having basically lived through it with the characters, their voices, pained, uncertain, scared. I think because you could hear what they were feeling and the consequences of what they had to deal with, it becomes more real then when your reading it in your head. I take my hat off🎩 to the narrator for a bliming good job, to hear Vince and Henry and someone who must not be named( and someone who was probably not heard from again💀) being brought to life was good. We really got the feel of their sadistic cruel natures. I'm loving gray, Jack and Jan. A really highly emotive listen but like with all good things sometimes the journey getting there is hard and fraught with potholes. An avenging gray is a scary prospect and of course soft lad Jan. Really well done listen.😀

Mesmerising

Get ready for your heart to be squeezed so hard. Between Jack L Pyke’s mesmerising story and Dan Calley’s smooth narration I was caught. I had to keep listening to find out what was happening to Jack and Jan. More importantly why were they targeted and abused. The depictions of the psychological games are very well crafted. I just had to stop and listen whilst I inwardly railed against those harming Jack and Jan. Excellent book that is perfectly narrated.

masterly written, best choice with Dan Calley

Gosh, this was something different. I have even more respect for the author now HEARING all those words she wrote down. Dan Calley did an amazing job with this heavy story. It’s so passionate and desperate, I almost couldn’t handle it listening to all the despair. Dan absolutely hit everything that could be hit! All the emotions, he did un unbelievable good job, he made me choke up more than once! The different voices with their own pitches, I was in awe, so impressive done. Deep bow!  About the story! I’m out of words... nothing, read: nothing is comparable with this story. And no words can describe what it did to me. A Top Shelf Masterpiece Psychological BDSM Thriller! Could Antidote overrule Don’t #1..? Impossible -but-oh-my-freak’n-god, it did, it did..!! For the first time ever I had trouble to start a story. I didn’t read any reviews because afraid of spoilers. I understand there are some warnings, I heard it from the author and through the grapevine. So this is how it started. Jan with them as a fresh breeze. Fun, joy getting to know each other more. The power exchange is one of a kind. Gray, for me Master of Masters, knows exactly how to handle Jack, in between deliciously vanilla Jan. Jack is in awe. Jack is in love! When the torture from his past caught up with him, the torture turns into the most horrible darkest nightmare. Jan is caught into this nightmare. A dark hurtful passionate story. One of a kind! So much love, I was floored, completely floored! Watching the three of them was highly and forcefully erotic and enormously arousing! At times I had to stop, just to collect myself. Their journey made all my senses on high alert! I wanted to prepare myself but it wasn’t enough. They made me stumble, tremble and fall hard and pull me down into the abyss. I wanted to scream out loud. We are talking here about an extraordinary, intelligent and masterly developed story. Jack, Gray and Jan are the most amazing characters I’ve ever seen. Jack’s complicated beautiful mind is one of a kind. Gray’s protectiveness over Jack is of a level so high and so deep I’m out of words. Their connection is from a whole other world, again I can’t find words, even looking in the deepest of my soul I can’t find them.  This is one of darkest, vicious reads I’ve ever witnessed, unequaled in every way! At moments I had to distanced myself, put up a wall up, it was so so hard to digest.  In those moments I thought there would never be light again, it felt so depressingly dark. When minds opened and mouth speak, the world explode and went silent, I cried my eyes out. An unequaled story. Highly recommended!! Not for the faint of heart!

Enitional & Intense

Antidote Don't Book 2 Jack L Pyke So If finally finished it. This books is a perfect rollercoaster of emotions and suspense. The topics in this book could trigger so be aware. I enjoyed it. I'm a bit detached, so it didn't really phase me. I will say the emotions that the three characters experienced made me feel for them. Especially Grey. He was the hard and seruous one so when he broke down my heart broke. That fact that Jack showed a Dom in a vulnerable state made me smile. Being that powerless to help those he loved was relatable. One word...Martin. That caught me by surprise. The events that occurred were beautifully foreshadowed but difficult to guess. At least for me. I didn't even consider that person as the perpetrator. This one is my favorite so far and I recommend it as a read if you can handle the sexual abuse that occurs on page. It's graphic so be warned. I give this book 5 stars =^.^= I can't wait to dig into book 3.

intense

Would I listen to it again: yes Did the story keep me engaged: yes Was I invested in the characters: yes Story comment: good pace, intense and dark story and with complex characters. This one is disturbing and twisted at it's core. Narrator comment: I enjoyed Dan Calley's narration and think he's done a good job narrating Antidote. I had no problem distinguishing characters and the rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the book to life.

Mind games and so much more

Loved #2 of the Don’t series. Probably the darkest I’ve read/listened to. Jack L. Pyke delivers a stunning story with characters that gripped me from the get go. Dan Calley’s narration is masterful as he brings all characters to life with individuality and passion. Such a gift. Moving on to Antidote and can’t wait. Highly recommended.

A hard story to listen to but so good

This series is not for the faint at heart. If you dot like violence and Noncon... back away now. Also, you must read or listen to book One Don't first as this picks up after. I am going to admit These books take me a little longer to get through than some. It is not that they are not gripping or interesting it is just the content that is very rough. I'll also admit this one is so harch I nearly quit a couple of times but decided to push through since I wanted to see where the series goes. Now having said this... The story is great. The characters are intriguing, it is well written and keeps you on your toes but you must pay close attention. I think part of the problem for me was that there is a lot of memories or dream sequences and it was hard to make that known in the narration so I got lost a couple of time. I will say I chewed my nails to nubs and cried in this one a lot. Oh and I forgot to mention the twists and the shocking ending. my jaw still hurts from dropping to the floor. The narration is perfect. Dan Calley has the perfect accent for these men and brings the story to life. he keeps you pulled in. Every time he says doesn't I cringe now. If you like a dark romance, Don't mind violence and rape I think you will like this series. it is dark and twisted and oh so good.

Excellent story. Excellent narration.

This book is the epitome of dark psychological thriller. The writer has crafted a disturbingly intense story that drags you down to the darkest depths of human behavior, but also show you the resilience of the human spirit. The book was an amazing read, and the narration enhanced the experience. Definitely not for the soul who doesn't want to experience the dark side of humanity, but it is an excellent book.

It was such an intense book.

Wow. This was a very intense book. Captivating. Painful. Heartbreaking. I was very interesting to see the reactions to each of the characters. All of them so unexpected, which make the book so wonderful. I mostly listen to the audiobook and I’m so in love with the voices given to Jan and Gray. Particularly in sweet moments. Every time one of this guys say the word baby just melt my heart. I did struggle a little bit with the narration at times, It felt I got easily confused and lost track of what was going on, but I still love most of it. The book in general was more than I could expect. I already loved the characters and that didn’t change after reading this one. I’m more than intrigued by Gray, he is so interesting. I can’t wait to keep reading and/or listening about them. Recommended with caution, because it had some very dark moments that might not be suitable for all readers. This is not an stand alone.

Dark Listen

I enjoyed this narrator and this story. Both together make one delicious audiobook. It will be put on my list for relisten. This is only the second one by this author I’ve had the opportunity to listen to and I am not disappointed. Of course not everyone will enjoy this because it’s dark and could hold triggers but I did.

Chewed up all my nails , I did!!

5 Blue Roses 5 Blue Flames Narrator Dan Calley, once more continues to successfully convey the gruesome, dark and twisted master dom and sub series written by the uniquely gifted author Jack L. Pyke. This audiobook does come with a warning label. I was able to continue listening once I knew to expect abduction, rape and torture. Dan Calley has the ability to manipulate his voice and tempo to bring dump trucks full of heavyhearted emotions. Leaving me with "one beat up and two beats down" murderous anxious frustrations. By then I had to deflate and just let myself cry. I recommend this audiobook if you like your books on the darker side. It does not end in a cliffhanger, but it is a thriller, so expect some mysterious surprises. Happy Listening
