Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lepena, read by Hillary Huber.

We can’t choose the strangers we meet.

As the guests arrive at beautiful, remote Mitchell’s Inn, they’re all looking forward to a relaxing weekend deep in the forest, miles from anywhere. They watch their fellow guests with interest, from a polite distance.

Usually we can avoid the people who make us nervous, make us afraid.

With a violent storm raging, the group finds itself completely cut off from the outside world. Nobody can get in - or out. And then the first body is found...and the horrifying truth comes to light. There’s a killer among them - and nowhere to run.

Until we find ourselves in a situation we can’t escape. Trapped.

Gripping tale

I enjoyed this book which was definitely written in the style of Agatha Christie. Whilst not a patch on Dame Agatha’s classics which, to me, will never be beaten, it was a good and gripping book. The setting was perfect and the story thrilling and difficult to put down. I did had to park believability to one side as the plot stretched reality quite thinly, but that aside I really enjoyed it. Narration was good bit not outstanding.

I felt like I was actually there!

The build up of learning about the characters was deftly done. Chilling in parts. Didn't want it to end.

Middling murder mystery.

Not nearly as good as the previous books of the author I have read or heard.
The tone of the narrator was very monotonous.

Modern Day Agatha Christie

It was no 'And Then There Was One' but It did keep me guessing until the end. I did enjoy it.

The story has nothing new to offer! <br />

It is a very weak story. You can finf these characters in any other story. it feels like, the writer has written the whole thing in a week!

It was okay. Not that interesting. Not a good ending, double suspense.
No more to say.
