Summary

THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER

For all of the West's failings—terrible food, cold weather and questionable politicians with funny hair to name a few—it has its upsides. Konstantin would know. Growing up in the Soviet Union, he experienced first-hand the horrors of a socialist paradise gone wrong, having lived in extreme poverty with little access to even the most basic of necessities. It wasn't until he moved to the UK that Kisin found himself thriving in an open and tolerant society, receiving countless opportunities he would never have had otherwise.

Funny, provocative and unswervingly perceptive, An Immigrant's Love letter to the West interrogates the developing sense of self-loathing the Western sphere has adopted and offers an alternative perspective. Exploring race politics, free speech, immigration and more, Kisin argues that wrongdoing and guilt need not pervade how we feel about the West—and Britain—today, and that despite all its ups and downs, it remains one of the best places to live in the world.

After all, if an immigrant can't publicly profess their appreciation for this country, who can?

Interesting concepts and real stories

KK is "allowed" to probe things we block out, drawing on a fascinating lived experience.

I cannot recommend this enough.

Incredible, such an important take on an extremely difficult matter. It has articulated what I and many others have been trying to understand.

EXCELLENT

This is one of the best books I have listened to for a long time. If it were possible I would have it given out to all senior school children and University students.
So enlightening and interesting especially when written by a Russian immigrant. I feel sorry for Konstantin that he is now seeing the UK slowly slipping into the oppressive regime he escaped from. No wonder he feels the need to warn those who want it this way what they are getting us all into.
I intend to listen to this book again in order to try and take on board every bit of wisdom Konstantin is giving.
Excellently narrated, this book is a must!

Spot on

Add to your library. This is a well- written piece that assembles much of the evidence for why western societies are worth protecting.

Superb take on “woke” culture

An excellent portrayal of where the western may well end up if purely social rhetoric regimes take hold.

Utterly BRILLIANT! Top recommendation

I cannot recommend this book enough. I wish I could buy a copy for evey UK citizen, if not the Western democratic world. Utterly brilliant. I can't wait for Kisin's next books.

Very powerful

Fascinating, and really sticks with you. People who persist in flirting with socialist and woke ideology would do well to listen to this

The unique perspective of the author

Too much swearing that in some cases detracted from the very valid points raised. Just because Frances swears all the time doesn't mean you have to KK.
