Summary

From Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, the authors of the top 10 best seller The Wife Between Us, comes An Anonymous Girl - an electrifying novel about doubt, passion and deadly obsession....

Seeking women ages 18-32 to participate in a study on ethics and morality. Generous compensation. Anonymity guaranteed.

When Jessica Farris signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr Shields, she thinks all she’ll have to do is answer a few questions, collect her money and leave. But as the questions grow more and more intense and invasive, and the sessions become outings where Jess is told what to wear and how to act, she begins to feel as though Dr Shields may know what she’s thinking...and what she’s hiding. As Jess’ paranoia grows, it becomes clear that she can no longer trust what is real in her life and what is one of Dr Shields’ manipulative experiments. Caught in a web of deceit and jealousy, Jess quickly learns that some obsessions can be deadly.

Loved it!

After enjoying The Wife Between Us so much last year, I had to listen to the newest book by these two authors. I wasn’t expecting it be be as good, but it had me hooked from start to finish. It never got boring, there were twists and turns along the way, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Narration excruciating

The story was strange. Not what I expected. I listened to the end, but the narrator was the worst of any audiobook I have listened to. It ruined the overall experience for me.

Brief ending

The first book was so good I was profoundly looking forward to the next book but it just wasn't as good, struggled with it

Very disappointing

This had the potential to be slick, sexy and smart. Unfortunately, it was another dumb book which lacked any really suspense or intriguing twists. The writer has style but everything else was utterly poor.

It was alright

This is interesting enough a listen, I guess I was expecting a bigger ending, a more dramatic ending and felt let down when there wasn't one. A fairly decent book though, pulls you in at the beginning. I would say the beginning keeps you more interested than the end and by the end you are finishing the book for the sake of finishing it rather than rushing to the end because you NEED to know what is going to happen.

One narrator is very off putting and it can be confusing trying to figure out who they were supposed to be and it took me a while to get use to the very robotic voice.

Not bad, I don't think this will set anyone's world on fire but a decent listen for a dreary week in January.

Totally implausible but great fun

A rollicking good story about a young woman who gets sucked into a manipulative psychiatrist’s web of mind games. It’s chock full of hyperbole (endless cliffhangers, twists and situations causing adrenal gland overdrive) but no less entertaining for it. Recommended.
