From the internationally bestselling authors of The Wife Between Us comes this electrifying new psychological thriller about truth, lies and deadly obsession . . .

When Jessica signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr Shields, she thinks all she’ll have to do is answer a few questions, collect her money and leave. But as the questions grow more and more invasive, she begins to feel as though they know what she’s thinking . . . and what she’s hiding.

As Jessica's paranoia grows, it becomes clear that she can no longer trust what is real in her life, and what is one of Dr Shields’s manipulative experiments. Caught in a web of deceit and jealousy, Jess quickly learns that some obsessions can be deadly.

After enjoying The Wife Between Us so much last year, I had to listen to the newest book by these two authors. I wasn’t expecting it be be as good, but it had me hooked from start to finish. It never got boring, there were twists and turns along the way, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Loved it!

I enjoyed this book and was gripped from start to finish. It is an unusual story about passion and obsession and the lengths one woman will go to. The characters are well developed and I felt drawn to the main female Jessica and her relationship with Dr Shields. The narration was very good and the voices suited the characters. This is the type of book I struggle to pause and feel befeft when finished.

Highly enjoyable psychological thriller

One of those “girl on a “ style psychological thrillers that’s great for easy listening and sheer enjoyment. Excellent presentation with the two main voices and the story’s not bad either. A tad implausible, but hey, still a good, fun listen.

Implausible but still entertaining

The story started a bit slow, the first good few hours were a tough listen, it reminded me of a book (which i didnt like) called The Girl Before. Lots of physchological questions and listening to answers, very repetitive. But i went on to realise this was critical to set the plot for the story. Once that bit had passed the story got better and better. These two writers have a natural talent and twisting storylines and playing characters off against each other, without it becoming confusing. You can follow it clearly, despite all the double-crossing and "back stabbing". I still preferred The Wife Between Us, that was what made me find these authors. Looking forward to their new release coming out soon. One final note, the main voice actor is brilliant, also from The Wife Between Us, but I found the voice of Dr Sheilds very robotic. Overall, 4 stars.
