Story
Drunk, dazed, disoriented, and stumbling down Clifton Street at 11:30 a.m., Effie is the kind of girl you’d likely avoid eye contact with while silently labeling a drifter or a delinquent. You’d probably pass judgment, assuming you know her - but you don’t know the half of it. As Effie’s life spirals through a mess of excess, drama, and addiction plaguing her at every turn, she has nothing to look forward to but a hangover worse than death itself each morning. Until one night gives her the chance to become something more.

Story
What happens when you die? We don't like to think about death. It's not a pleasant subject, and we avoid even discussing it seriously or giving it any diligent study. Yet our appointment with death is the most certain event in our future. We all know of personal examples when death has come suddenly to people, without warning, without preparations; car accidents, stray bullets, unforeseen strokes. When it comes our time, what do we expect death to be like? How will we enter eternity?

The Ezra Apocalypse is the only non-Catholic book included in the KJV 1611 Apocrypha. It contains many prophecies about the end times. Quoted often by the church fathers of the first and second century AD, this apocalypse reveals the rise of Islam. In chapters 11-12 there is a prophecy of a three-headed eagle symbolizing how the Roman Empire would split into three empires. The empires would die out and leave three kingdoms ruling in the last days.

In his latest book, native Israeli and best-selling author Amir Tsarfati makes clear what the Bible says about God’s unique master plans for his two chosen groups, Israel and the church.

When did Satan fall? We know that the angels were created prior to the Earth. We find Satan had already fallen in Genesis 3. The mystery is, when did he fall? It appears that there are substantial Scriptural references to his rebellion, his agenda, and the subsequent catastrophic judgment that ensued. This raises the whole issue of the origin of evil. And why hasn't God simply wiped him "and sin" out completely?

The ancient church fathers taught many things about end-time prophecy. They taught the Second Coming would be approximately 2,000 years after the First Coming (AD 32 and AD 2032). The actual writings of church fathers Irenaeus (AD 170), Hippolytus (AD 210), and Ephrem (AD 350) identify three of the ten nations that will become part of the Antichrist’s government and where the Antichrist will be born. Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it's likely the former, which is a fancy 'book' way of saying 'the first one.') I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like. I also talk about some of my adventures in Los Angeles, and surely say things about other famous people that will create a wildly awkward conversation for me at a party one day.

I played all those cool video games. I watched all those movies. I even read the books. In most of 'em, the hero shoots the bad guys, drives a sweet car, never gets hungry, and always seems to get laid by the end. Yeah. Whatever. I gotta be straight with you about why I wrote this journal, and it comes down to one thing, the apocalypse kinda sucks. It doesn’t meet my expectations at all.

There is a hint of Armageddon in the air. According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (recorded, thankfully, in 1655, before she blew up her entire village and all its inhabitants, who had gathered to watch her burn), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. So the Armies of Good and Evil are massing, the four Bikers of the Apocalypse are revving up their mighty hogs and hitting the road, and the world's last two remaining witchfinders are getting ready to Fight the Good Fight.

when a human mind is God
Don't preach said the preacher for your words are untrue if not from the heart. No heart in this yet listened cringing to the end to be sure. A perspective warped by humanity. A listen that I did not need to waste my precious time on. This book is a rant of judgemental human perspective on what God is as if he is God. Thank God he aint.

Philosophically funny
Loved it , a funny satirical, sometimes uncomfortably close to the truth comedy story. Especially loved the mention of Donald Trump, a question most sensible people ask themselves a lot, usually every time we hear him speak.

If I'd had to pay for this I'd have been refunding within the first 10 minutes. If it had been any longer I wouldn't have made it to the end.
I have no idea whether David Javerbaum is capable of better but after suffering through this I'm unlikely ever to find out.

A Blasphemous Title
The product description on Audible implies that biblical truth is contained in this title. The audiobook is in fact primarily false doctrine which conflicts with the Bible. While I acknowledge that the author/narrator indicates that the Bible is true, the human author then writes a series of false "commandments". In reality: God does want to have a relationship with humans, He does answer prayers and He does want people to believe in Him. I recommend that people who value the Bible and read it regularly stay away from this blasphemous title.

A Bit of a Chuckle Maybe?
This book is positioned as lighter fare, and I suppose it fulfills that role well enough. We have Sean Hayes as the voice of God in a pseudo talk show with his angels as they try to answer people's questions while skimming through the story of all life as told by the Bible and God's 10 commandments.
I figured the title would fall under the category of irreverent humor and naturally, God having the sensibilities of an insult comic while also fully prepared to be self-deprecating follows that logic well enough. But it's not overwhelmingly funny save for a few good zingers here and there. And you kind of expect these things to have a sort of a point that it wants to make and it tries to do this at the very end of the book, but by then it feels a little off.
