Summary

Amethyst de Burgh has been sent by the archbishop as assistant to her uncle, the master mason in building a castle for the border lord, Marcus Montclair. She has always dreamed of this opportunity, but knows a woman in this position would not be accepted if it wasn't for the sealed and stamped missive giving the order, sent by the Archbishop himself.

Marcus is not pleased when a woman shows up saying she is the new assistant to his master mason. And when his father arrives with a missive from the king, things only get worse. Now he's expected to marry the girl when she challenges his every word.

With his castle unfinished and his defenses low, he knows it won't be long before the Scots come over the border and they are attacked. But facing the enemy isn't half as challenging as dealing with his new wife.

A hardened border lord and a headstrong woman are forced to work together to change their ways. And in the process they learn that things are not always as they seem....

Loved this last story of this series

Lord Marcus- A ruthless border lord who had no respect for woman!
Lady Amethyst- by the order of the Archbishop of Canterbury was able to help her uncle make a castle.
I Loved listening and reading this highly engaging story of 2 very strong willed individuals learning to become their own person and accepting themselves as well as the ones they love. This tale is well written with unforgettable characters and some dramatic/action events and a loving HEA. I try never to put spoilers in my review but Can't help not to mention that baby brother Onyx makes an appearance and apparently has his own story bk1 of the Madman Mackeefe series.
Narrated by Brian J Gill- who did a wonderful job of telling the story and a good use of voice animation for each person in the story.

Brilliant story

Yet another brilliant story. This is the last book of the series Daughters of the Daggers. Loved every second of the whole series. The narrator Brian Gill was very good. These books were worth every credit. I really recommend them. Starting from Legacy of the Blade. Now on to the next series, Madman Mckeefe, the first book is Onyx's story, brother to the Daughters of the Daggers.

Amethyst

Today I finished listening to Amethyst. What a lovely story. The narration was excellent. Amethyst was the last of the four daughters to be at home. She is sent to help build a castle with her Uncle. The Earl of the Castle is not happy that she is there. His Father arrives and he has met her Father and between them they have arranged a marriage between the couple. So they get married and after many interruptions they eventually consummate the marriage. There are a few wars and injuries. This book definitely has adventure. It is very exciting and has its ups and downs. It has ended the series beautifully. All the sisters got their blades back. Miss Rose you exceeded all my expectations. Well done. Fantastic series.

Elizabeth Rose, what a fantastic series!

Amethyst deByrg was sent by the Archbishop to
Marcus Montclair Castle! Marcus was an abrupt
Border Lord who had no patience or faith in
a woman's worth.
Amethyst stood up to him and didn't take
any of his cruelty. Amethyst is the 4th
Daughter of the Dager.
Love this book, awesome narration!

It was a very good story and the narrator made it amazing to listen to. Four such different sisters, such different stories.

Good story.

I like the story, not so much the narrator. He makes Amethyst sound bubble brained and twittery when she isn't.

True Love

Amethyst book 4 and last book of the daughters of the daggers. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Woman of Daggers with Jewels names by them. Each found true love even though someone has to sacrifice that life. But the ending is all jewel daughters of the dagger ended with true love
This is a definite must read series.

It was a wonderful auditory experience.

I read this book before, some years ago. I enjoyed Amethysts love story, her character and stubborn nature too.
After listening to this story, now narrated by Mr. Brian J. Gill , I feel as though it is a new story and somehow I read it wrong or rather as if I misinterpreted it. It felt new, the meanings richer and his accent made me feel as if I left NY and vacationed in England. I gave it 4 stars because Mr. Gill made me laugh every time he made the young ladys' voices, especially that of Marcus' young female cousin.

great

in my belief this is the best book of the four. I wish I had to read them first but I read the one about the son before period. This author is one of the best I've ever read. There was a lot of details in this book which made it I think one of the better of the 4th although the other three were wonderful. Elizabeth Rose will be one of my favorite authors and look forward to reading more of her books.

Most enjoyable experience

This is my first audio book and loved it. Being able to do things while listening to a great story and a great story teller, made the experience very enjoyable. As usual Ms Rose wrote a story full of love adventure and action. The characters where well developed and your felt for them in their times of trouble. As usual she also included a number of side characters to keep the story interesting.
The narrator Brian J. Gill did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. It was so nice having someone pronounce the words as they should be said instead of trying to guess. Now when I read another of Ms Roses books, I can hear Brian in my head reading to me. I look forward to listening to more of his audio books and if you haven’t tried one, this is a good place to start.

4th in the series....

I enjoyed the book and narrative but..... somehow something was almost missing.... it was very good but it felt like it was rushed or at times sort of glossed over. Don't get me wrong I still think it was worth it. But it was not quite as fulfilling.

I bought this audible edition for $1.99 when I purchased the kindle edition for $3.99. I've done the same with the first book in the next series, Onyx.
