Story
On her last mission, HMS Invincible discovered an alien threat beyond human understanding. Defeat means the end of everything, the end of existence as nothing more than mindless host-bodies, the end of humanity and its alien allies alike. The stakes could not be higher. As a deeply divided humanity struggles to prepare a defense, with enemies inside and outside the human sphere just lurking to strike, Invincible is sent deep into alien space on what should have been a simple reconnaissance mission.

When vampires attack David White's small town, only luck, firepower, and the intervention of an elite government task force saves his life. The aftermath of the attack leaves him in the middle of the world's biggest secret: the existence of government agencies that regulate the supernatural. Irritated
Listening to this book for a second try because I can't remember anything about the story and the next in the series just came out. After 2 hours of my second attempt I'm incredibly irritated with the author and the narrator and rating the book for return.
The story.....I still have no idea who's who or what's going on. I can't follow the story! So I rate it terrible. Then there's the narrator.....she's kind of ok in the Kurtherian Gambit series BUT apparently she only has the same voices she uses in that series and I keep thinking "what's that character from KG doing in this book?" Sending this one back.
