About this listen

Cassie Forrest has sworn she'll never let the world get the best of her again. She's chosen to believe everything will be all right. But on a journey filled with heartbreak and madness and zombies, Cassie and her friends must struggle to stay alive—and it's hard to believe in a future when survival seems unlikely.

The narration is good. The plot is ok and the story rattles along at a reasonable pace until the last couple of hours, which could have been dispensed with or at least significantly reduced.

I kept wanting to shout: 'Keep the sick people away from the others, for goodness sake!' at regular intervals in the latter part of the book- something that seems beyond these characters! I was also annoyed by all the 'lovey dovey happy ever after stuff' towards the end, as well as by the continued insistence that 16/17 year olds would go to school in the zombie apocalypse!

Apart from the last couple of hours I enjoyed this more than the previous book in the series and certainly more than the City novels.

Firstly, the narration was superb - so well narrated and you knew who was talking or thinking at any point. I just loved the characters and felt great sadness or joy for all of them on their journey. What a brilliant conclusion to the books. Loved them all!!! Thank you Sarah and Julia.

It's not your typical zombie book. this is full of life, and relationships. I laughed I cried and it left me wanting more. I was immersed in the journey and felt the losses. She doesn't mind killing off great characters, so it sometimes feels like you've been punched in the stomach! Great rad, great narrator. im looking for my next fix,and found it! can't wait to get started

incredible

I hadn't heard of this series but really glad I gave them a chance. Really good story and great that the author is a woman so non of the misogyny that appear in some other zombie books

unexpectedly great
