Summary

Winning Nationals wasn’t the only dream that came true. I also walked away with the heart of the one boy without whom I couldn’t live. I knew being Jace Wilder’s girlfriend wouldn’t be simple. But how could I have known all the hurdles we would face?

Drama at school? That’s a given. Jealous girls? That I expected. Family secrets? Not so much. At least I can always hit the trails to clear my head...or so I thought.

The high expectations from my winning cross country season still haunt me and hold me hostage. I can’t seem to get psyched up for what comes next. My competitive spirit is fading, and I’m lost without it. What will I do when my one constant is no longer my safe place?

Life on and off the track is spiraling out of control, leaving me in its wake as I struggle to remember who I truly am.

this series keeps on getting better !

only book 2 and yet I am completely hooked on peppers story, a high school romance with a bit of drama but mostly the passion a young girl has to reach her goals despite what gets in her way
I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series and see what happens, it's the best series I've listened to / read in a while I love that how despits some moments it still manages to make you smile , the narrator is absolutely perfect in her portrayal of all the characters in this story

I'm In Love with Pep & Jace 💜

"All Pepped Up: Pepper Jones Book 2," was an awesome extension of Book 1. Ali Dean's lesson for us all, was to learn forgiveness and show how people can be so petty; especially when it comes to other people's feelings. Also, how far to the extreme someone will go to hurt innocent people to get what they want.

Pepper finds out a secret that had been kept from her for quite some time by those closest to her.

Pepper was faced with not only those lessons, but she also was questioning how she feels about track. She wasn't sure if it was still as important to her as it was when she went to Nationals before.

I really believe that Ali did a really good job in writing this story line and again Stacey Glemboski was the narrator and she didn't miss a beat with the voices for these characters. I do recommend book 2 and I'm looking forward to listening to book 3.

High school drama romance

I will honestly say that I enjoyed book two much more than book one. There is a bit going on, but in a more settle sense. Also we get to know the characters a lot more in depth in this book, you’ll easily fall in love with Pepper, Jace and even Wes. Stacey did an outstanding job with the narrative!

So much drama!

There is so much drama and jealously surrounding Pepper in this book plus secrets are revealed. Pepper deals with mean girls and others trying to break her and Jace up. So far I'm loving the Pepper Jones series. Stacey Glemboski again did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.

Overcoming Obstacles

The author does an amazing job advancing the story in this second book of the series. It is so satisfying to watch as Pepper overcomes some personal obstacles in her running as well as obstacles in her relationship. Jace and Pepper are adorable, and it is a real treat to watch their relationship grow physically and emotionally. These are the kind of characters that are so well written and relatable that you dont want to put down their story. I'm super excited for more!

The narrator gives just as fantastic of a performance in this book as she did in the first book. I am loving her style, voice and acting! Excellent!!

Pepper strikes back!

This is book 2 in the Pepper Jones series.

Pepper and Jace are finally, FINALLY together and it is great! What can go wrong? Ha more like what can't go wrong.

Between jealous exes and old secrets it seems like there are too many obstacles for Pepper to handle. Pepper is lost and doesn't know who she is or what she wants anymore, she's in turmoil and can't seem to find the way out. Her old escape isn't even there for her anymore, she doesn't know who she is without running and she doesn't have her competitive drive anymore and that bothers her. What is wrong with her that she doesn't even like to run anymore? Is she already burned out?

Pepper faces quite a few trials and tribulations throughout this book, it is very much an emotional roller coaster for her, she is dealing with a new identity as Jace's girlfriend which comes with struggles of it's own but without running on her side what does she have to turn to?

Stacey Glemboski does a fantastic job on the narration! She even sings for us! ;) I love listening to her, she makes everything around me melt away and I get totally engrossed in the book.

Wonderful Performance, Stronger Story!

The Pepper Jones series is a definite favorite of mine. In the sequel, "All Pepped Up," Pepper navigates the pressure of becoming a well-known runner while also discovering her own voice.

Although I have read the series multiple times, I wanted to listen to it while commenting to school. This performance did not disappoint. The narrator is the same as in the first audiobook and I believe Glemboski has fully captured the tone of each character. I look forward to listening to the remaining audiobooks once they are released because this story is not just about a teenager navigating a relationship, bullies, and high school. Pepper is a woman learning her strength and how to trust her own instincts.

Does Not Disappoint

This is the second book in the Pepper Jones series and Ms. Dean did not disappoint. My first thought when it ended was that it was shorter (which both listening time and story time – it is). But then I realized that it is a vital piece of the Pepper/Jace story and was likely too long to include in the next book. This actually makes the series refreshing, as they are different lengths and it breaks from the old cliché of one book per school year.

While it can be read on its own, I would recommend reading the first book before as there are a lot of things mentioned that have a lot more back story than what is let on.

Once again Stacey Glemboski provides wonderful narration for the characters. Not only does she provide voices for each of the main characters, but also an inflection of feeling and presence. For example, if a face is smushed, the voice sounds smushed and my favorite…someone says something with food in their mouth and you wouldn’t doubt it! It made me wonder if she recorded while eating just for the scene.

I’m now invested with these characters and I can’t wait to see where they go in book three! The only negative I would say is there is not enough Gran! I would encourage Ms. Dean to consider her next series to be Gran in her youth. It would certainly be interesting to hear her back story.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Book 2 - Just as great as Book 1

I love the continuation of the Pepper story and all of the characters. They are growing as individuals and we continue to get to know the good and the bad. The narration is perfection again; she makes me feel like I'm part of their story. What more could you want?

I am re-living high school...

Ali has such a way with her words that I literally feel like I am re-living high school. As a gal that was in both cross country and track, I feel like this story could have truly taken place in my life (minus the drinking). I am loving this story and can't wait to see how the rest of Pepper's story progresses!

All Pepped Up

This 2nd book was as enjoyable as the first. Getting a closer look into the life of Pepper coming into her own while struggling with some bullying and outside expectation.

Getting Better and Better

I cant get over how good this story is getting. I am hooked. I can't stop listening. Ali Dean has woven an amazing story and these secrets unfolding!! Never saw those coming and it just keeps getting better! I miss Ryan but Jace is a great boyfriend if not a little over protective!! Stacey Glemboski does a great job and really and truly puts her heart and soul into this! I love it! There is alot of fun and action in Book 2!! I can't wait to see what craziness is gonna hit in Book 3! Pepper is really learning to navigate high school in a whole new light! Who knew gaining a boyfriend would lead to bullies and a whole lot more drama! She can't get the same high she has always gotten from running since she did so well in the last book. Ali has a way of writing that gets you really attached to the characters and I find myself right along side them in the moments of bliss and horror and everything in between!!
