From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Weiner, her “best book yet” (The Philadelphia Inquirer) about a woman confronting her dependence on pills.

Allison Weiss got her happy ending—a handsome husband, an adorable daughter, a job she loves, and the big house in the suburbs. But while waiting in the pediatrician’s office, she opens a magazine to a quiz about addiction. She begins to wonder if a Percocet at the end of the day really different from a glass of wine. Is it such a bad thing to pop a Vicodin after a brutal exercise class…or if your husband ignores you? She tells herself that the pills help her make it through her days but what if her increasing drug use, a habit that’s becoming expensive and hard to hide, is turning into her biggest problem of all? What did you like about this audiobook?

This book is very well written, with engaging characters that draw the listener in. The subject matter was not the usual fare. Its probably worth saying that its like a more serious version of 'Rachael's Holiday' by Marian Keyes.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

The narration was good, but just a little 'off' at times. At one point my partner came into the room and said "it sounds like Siri is reading that book"! It could be a little wooden at times. And there were moments of dead air occasionally. However, that aside, she performed the different voices very well. The voice of 5-year-old Ellie was excellent! Overall, the narration was very good.

Do you have any additional comments?

Based upon this book, I will definitely try others by the same author.
