Summary

Michael has lived with his Thai wife in Thailand for 12 years and Spain for two, but failed to get her a residence permit for the UK. She was sent back to Thailand and he moved back to his home town of Barry in South Wales to try to "get her in" before Brexit. The chances are slim, and he sinks ever deeper into despair even sleeping on the beach to save money. In truth, he starts to lose his mind with worry and loneliness. He won't even go to his family for help, because he feels that they have shunned him, but is he right?

One day, a chance accident brings him into contact with four people who change his life forever, but who are they and where do they come from. His alter Ego, Ralph, makes fantastic insinuations, but could they be true?

Alien House is a fantasy, but the problems within the story are very real for thousands of couples especially with Brexit.

Emotional story but narrator is very flat

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, but it certainly wasn't what I got.

The actual story is incredibly heartfelt, it's about a man who is doing everything he can to make a life for himself and his wife, except go to his family for help as his pride won't allow him. When faced with admitting to strangers his current homeless situation, his life slowly begins to change, as does he, for the better. Through encouragement and cojoling from his new friends he reconnects with his past passion of designing and building and in doing so reconnects with his family.

It is actually a very sweet story about how a little act of kindness can help change someone's future.

The only drawback to this audio version was the narrator, he was very flat, expressing almost no emotion throughout, the whole story was told in the same plodding monotonous tone, which did at times detract from the quality of the story.

Overall Great Book.

Michael's wife was sent back to Thailand as he failed to get her a residence permit. He becomes all alone to face the problems as his family shunned him.And finally meet some friends who can change his life.I loved the story because there were so many ups and downs.I think Owen jones tried to show the hardful life of couples who are ditached from each other years after years.Surely, this is a masterpiece.

Wonderful!

This was compulsively readable reference work from Owen jones. The story and the characters were marvelous in a word.the story is about Michael and his wife from thailand.
As Michael failed to get a resident permission his wife was sent back to Thailand.Michael almost looses his mind in order to get her back.I become fan of it as it comes with both fantasy and fact.

Great audio book.

I started reading the book and to be honest i loved the book even before i finished it. All the characters were equally important, easy to understand and enjoyable. Michael's struggle shows that how hard it is if someone failes to get a resident pemit. his alter ego Ralf who is makes insinuations. So yes, this was more than  a readable book.

Worth Listening to

I got this book via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story made me sit up and listen especially in light of the immigration crisis in our country. The narrator brought out the details that would have been passed over. The twists that the story took is interesting. I would like to listen to more by this author.

Just could not finish

This book is not what I expected. I went as far as I could but I got more bored by the chapter until I decided I could not put any more time into it. It was not the worst, but it moved so slowly at times I could barely stay awake.

The narrator wasn’t bad for what he had to work with.

I requested this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Incredible~~ <3

I really wish I didn't wait so long to review this book because now I forget a lotta stuff. But I usually take notes because I listen to everything in my Library and review everything. SO, I go look at my notes. And they were bad. Then I re-read the summery of the book and OOOOHHH yeahhh..... This book was Phenomenal. I just checked to see if there was a number two, but alas, nothing yet. The narration was excellent. The book was smart and the entertainment never stopped. If you guys have any similar books, throw them my way and I promise a review. I was extremely impressed! Keep up the great work guys!!!

This book was given to me at my request. I am providing a voluntary and completely honest!

Powerful

Do not let this title fool you this book is well written and sends a powerful message in an amazing extraterrestrial way. This is my first time hearing anything from this author but it will definitely not be my last. I was hooked and could not stop listening. The book intrigued me to want to know more.
The characters are charismatic and alluring. The storyline is powerful and imaginative. The narrator Matt Jenkins brought it all together with his amazing voices. I will be looking into more books by this author. I received this book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review here of my own volition. Do not miss this amazing read.
