How to Create Winning Strategies and Their Ration.

Makes you think about what you are really trying to do. Relatively technical, calculus is a good thing to understand. It does not try and sell you trading strategies or systems, but methods and the underlying discipline to achieve good strategies.

Balanced with Thoughtful Guidance .

I have dabbled in the stock market off and on for a number of years, primarily as a hobbyist observer made a couple bucks here and there. Over the years I've read a couple books on investing, economics and trading strategies.

This is definitely not a introductory book.

This is definitely not a introductory book. experienced traders, either discretionary or algorithmic should read it to get new trading ideas, shows not only the rules for the system but also the code and how you should set up your platform in order to trade it.

Broad topics, not so introductory.

Author tried hard to give nice presentation with full of tables and lists. But, it was not for complete newbie like me.If you have get some experience and want to know if there is something missed, this book will be definitely helpful.

Put you on the right track to greatness in trading

The discretionary trader will gather useful tips and insights, the emphasis on the benefits of diversification, a rarely promoted feature. The chapters are kept short and reading the book is a breeze. A must-read for traders of any seniority willing to improve their practice.

Mathematicians' contributions to everyday problems

The book has had a large number of reviewers already, I will highlight some, but far from all, of the topics of each chapter so you may see if they make you curious. While the book speaks of algorithms to live by, the mathematics in the book is highly limited.

Fresh Thinking for a Field in Need of New, Useful

Having worked both as a hedge fund and in data science at a tech startup, the lack of penetration of modern data science and machine learning techniques into everyday quantitative finance has long surprised me.

Basic beginner's guide at best.

A resourceful person would do much better studying stock charts of big gainers to map out similarities in how the moves formed and played out, and then look for similar patterns forming on stocks and trading them to their advantage. There, I just told you more in one paragraph than you'll learn in this entire book.

Good introduction

Content is ok, an introduction. Being an intermediate expert of the matter I didn't learn anything new but I think for beginners is a good start. It is annoying how the narrator keeps using the word algorithmic instead of algorithm as they are they same, they are not! Also a big no no in not mentioning at all Metatrader that is likely the most popular trading platform for beginners in algotrading in Forex.

He does not use this book as only an advertising .

I learned a tremendous amount from this book. The author does a great job of explaining the basics about automated trading systems and goes over a lot of the pitfalls you can encounter with it. I feel like I gained so much knowledge by reading his book.

Machine Trading Offers Practical And Informative.

Machine Trading had a ton of useful information for me. The first chapter looked at data sources for back-testing trading strategies. There was information about which are the best sites to get data from, which have good APIs, and the costs of these services.

Academic survey of existing ML methods applied.

My impression is that the text reads a bit like an academic survey of some existing ML methods applied to quantitative finance, a bit heavy on theoretical models and sourcing many fairly recent papers culled from various financial and machine learning
