Summary

Alex’s Amazing Secret

Some of our best memories are built playing during summer vacation. Children love to have adventures and look for different and exciting things to do. This story is about a little boy named Alex, who has an inquisitive imagination and finds himself discovering something magical while out playing one day over the summer.

Every parent wants their child to discover and explore new things through play. This children’s book is outstanding in that it helps kids to understand the importance of play and imagination. Play allows kids to develop their creativity while using their dexterity, imagination, and cognitive skills. Play allows children to practice all the skills they need as they grow up. In today’s technology-full world, play is often overlooked. This audio story helps children rediscover how to play.

Ann Twigg’s Alex’s Amazing Secret audiobook is carefully crafted and designed to encourage children to use their imagination.

Ann’s narration of this audiobook will help a child to learn through play, and they will understand how using their imagination can make great things happen. This book will have your child hooked within minutes of starting to listen.

Magical summer listening

We really enjoyed this audio book and was very fitting for the summer time of year. We listened to this story in the car on a longer car journey and it really kept my children's attention (age 6 and 8). The story has some very likable characters and my daughters loved hearing about the little people in it. A very enjoyable listen and we will probably listen to this more than once. Would recommend.

My daughter loved it

This audiobook is read in a calm and familiar tone, which makes it easy for children to relax and engage with the story.

My three year old daughter was having a difficult day, and was too tired to do much. I suggested she have a lie down, to which she refused, however when I put Alex's Amazing Secret on, she snuggled down in bed and lay motionless for half an hour, totally absorbed in the story. She managed to tell me all about it afterwards, so she'd been concentrating well.

I can't wait to hear more stories from Ann Twigg, I have a feeling that they will become firm favourites.

A lovely story, easy to visualise.

This story is beautifully read for easy listening. The voice is gentle making this an ideal bedtime story or book corner read. It could be read to a class of infant to early junior school aged children as a prompt to aid their writing. It is ideal for developing children's imaginations through the life of an everyday setting such as the rocks in the bolehills. Most children will be swept away by the familiar, easy but detailed descriptions as the Little People sip from their acorn cups etc. The repetitive easy phrases make the characters and events more believable as heroic Alex attempts to discover this new mysterious world.

I would definitely recommend this audio book.

A lovely little story about a boy visiting his grandma and goes on an adventure of a lifetime

A lovely story about a little boy (Alex) visiting his grandma over the school holiday break.
While at his grandma’s Alex plays on a large rock and finds a group of little people beneath the rock and slowly but surely becomes friends with them, finally joining them on one of their adventures.
