Summary

A library apprentice, a sorcerer prince, and an unbreakable magic bond....

The Solaris Empire is one conquest away from uniting the continent, and the rare elemental magic sleeping in 17-year-old library apprentice Vhalla Yarl could shift the tides of war.

Vhalla has always been taught to fear the Tower of Sorcerers, a mysterious magic society, and has been happy in her quiet world of books. But after she unknowingly saves the life of one of the most powerful sorcerers of them all - the Crown Prince Aldrik - she finds herself enticed into his world. Now she must decide her future: embrace her sorcery and leave the life she's known, or eradicate her magic and remain as she's always been. And with powerful forces lurking in the shadows, Vhalla's indecision could cost her more than she ever imagined.

Nearly missed this gem of a book.

This is a wonderful and exciting fantasy romance. The narrator is terrible as she reads too quickly. I slowed her down to .75 then she is ok. I would recommend doing the same as the story is too good to miss.

Absolutely incredible, a haunting magical world I can't wait to see more of.

This story was wonderful. It started out a little slow but after a few chapters I was hooked. I loved reading as the main character grew and developed into herself. someone compelling and willful. The world the story takes place in is rich and well rounded and the romance feels so honest and real that I found myself falling in love along side our heroine. Anyone who enjoys fantasy is missing out if they don't give this book a chance.

Listen

This is the kind of guilty pleasure, teen romance, fantasy ish I’ve been waiting for. It strikes the screaming teenage girl in all of us, you know it, I know it, we ALL know it. It’s like a mix between avatar the last airbender and Throne of Glass vibes. I can’t put the series it down. Help. It’s 3 am.

One Powerful Story!!

I truly loved every second of this!!! What a unique and heart tugging book!! So much was happening throughout that my whole attention was concentrated upon every detail and every character. Loved the voices that this entertaining narrator gave life to. I can't wait to jump into the next book!!

ummm this was effing good

Fantastic book. Geeat world building, slow burn relationship/romance, fantastic characters etc. But not very action heavy. More character driven but done so well, I was enthralled the whole time. The narrator was impressive (she literally cried in one portion. She was acting, not just narrating)

SO UNDERRATED

This was such a good listen!!! I love the world building and I love the use of elements. I thought the narrator did a good job, it tooke me a chapter or two to get used to her. The romance is a slow burn, as it starts from a friendship. I bought the next audiobook for the sequel right away.

Everything changed when the fire nation Attacked.

I haven't finished yet but I already the avatar comparison is so strong! it's not awful though.

Good, but feels rushed in the beginning

The first half of the book feels rushed and there are places where I feel like more focus on the backstory/why things are happening would have been nice.
I really do like the story itself, but the way it was written in the beginning just seems a little off to me
