Summary
Abandoned by new husband James, Agatha Raisin hops on a plane to the South Pacific in the hope that an idyllic holiday will bring some consolation. There, she befriends a honeymooning couple, but tragically, the young bride is accidentally drowned. Returning home to the Cotswolds, Agatha finds herself involved in a strangely similar situation: a woman, dressed in a wedding gown, is found floating in the river. The police say suicide, but Agatha, spurred on by bitter reflections on the married state, sets out to prove them wrong.

Excellent
Agatha Raisin is as always.... good. So is Penelope Keith reading the story. I cannot imagine anyone else doing the dialogue. Agatha reminds me of myself.

Not her best
I do like these novels. But this was a weak one. I will still listen to the next one. I love Penelope Keith

Wonderfully Penelope Keith, but not sure about the accents?
The story soo typical of MC Beaton, ingenious good fun, so extreme at time it reads like a grown up darkish fairy tale, and there are never any loose ends 💕but...... at risk of offending her multitudes of fans, though these readings entirely belong to Ms Keith , none could do it better, but as I say,her accents are dreadful, her Birmingham and Coventry almost contemptuous , and she manages to make teenagers sound middle
Aged, and those mostly middle aged characters sound at least a hundred and ten! Being familiar with the midlands from Oxford to Brum, I-am quite offended because its slightly demeaning. However It doesn’t ruin my enjoyment- this is my fifth MCB, but I think its time to throw the mockery out, ‘Brummies ‘ put up with a lot you know, even if Agatha can get away with almost anything, it seems to be used to emphasise a slight lack of grey matter on those characters behalf, god forbid if you are supposedly young and ‘Brummie’ you are most definitely assumed to ‘be two sandwiches short of a picnic,’ as dear Agatha might have said.

Not one of her best
I have been listening to MC Benton’s books for a while now, after watching the series on TV and I really enjoy them. Penelope Keith does a wonderful job of reading them; I just love her voice
This story is not one of the best, but there were plenty of twists and turns to keep this fan on her toes
