Runner-Up, 2013 Rainbow Award for Lesbian Contemporary General Fiction

Readers everywhere fell in love with Syd, Maddie, David, Michael, Pete, and the irrepressible Roma Jean Freemantle in Ann McMan's 2011 best seller, Jericho. Now, return to the tiny mountain town in the much-anticipated sequel, Aftermath.

Over the past 18 months, Syd, Maddie, and little Henry have become a family, and things are going surprisingly well for most of Jericho's residents...if you don't count the devastating storm that whips through town. In the weeks and months to come, Syd, Maddie, and all of Jericho are forced to pick up the pieces and rebuild their homes, their lives, and their town. The task is sometimes hard, sometimes emotional, and sometimes absurd, but it is always full of smart and sassy humor and an abundance of good food and wine.

Eleştirmen yorumları

" Aftermath by Ann McMan is the follow-up to her debut novel, Jericho. It manages to take all of Jericho's strengths and build on them, leaving the [listener] with a story that is often hilarious, occasionally heartrending, and entirely satisfying.... Christine Williams is back as narrator, and again, the narration is excellent. I truly can't imagine anyone else bringing these words to life in the same way." ( The Lesbian Review)

Book two in the 'Jericho' series and it is excellent just like Book One ! Book Two is much shorter that Jericho Book One, which seems to of laid the groundwork for the series. Aftermath is full of warmth , humour and occasional sadness. The narration is once again so good I'm sure I could listen to Christine Williams read a telephone directory !

Book Two !

written again with the same indepth quality as book 1 following the lives of a local community across the classes, the loves losses doubts we all experience but this time with more humour and hope amongst the struggles, Christine Williams bilingual narration is excellent and the German translation between David and Seline had me laughing outloud, payday in 3 days I can't wait to purchase books 3&4 .

Loved the pacing of this follow up book. Much more relaxed storytelling. Time enough for the characters to unpeeled a little. Well done to Ann McMan, she has invented some wonderful, recognisable characters without resort to cliché. Éncore...
