This is my favourite retelling so far, Gerda and Kai are free from the snow queen. However in the process of the journey Gerda has come to the realisation that despite her affection for Kai, which had been the driving force of her journey, he's not the final possibility. She has grown enough to see her own feelings for what they are and take the brave next step to truly follow her heart and explore what other wonders the world has yet to offer.

Virginia Ferguson gives a gentle strength to Gerda and even shows Kai working through his resentment to final be supportive of his friend.

Maria K had a wonderful skill at picking key turning points in stories we know so well and pointing them in a new direction. I would really love her to expand on this story on particular.
