Ghost Flight is written by the ever-popular adventure survivalist and ex-SAS soldier Bear Grylls and is an astounding action thriller audiobook narrated by English voice actor Rupert Degas. Will Jaeger is the haunted wreck of the man he once was. When he is asked to complete a mission deep in the Amazon jungle, he never imagines how fateful the outcome will be. Now he has a chance to find out which of his enemies is responsible for murdering his family. Interlaced with impossible terrains and dangerous enemies, this book is one that grabs hold and doesn’t let go. Available now from Audible.

Summary

Haunted by his wife and son's brutal abduction and murder, ex-soldier Will Jaeger runs to the ends of the Earth to recover and to hide. But even there he is found and compelled to undertake one last mission and to confront a savage past he can barely even remember.

Jaeger agrees to lead an expedition into the Mountains of the Gods in the remote Amazon jungle. At the dark heart of this real-life Lost World lies a mystery WWII warplane, one that harbours a secret so explosive its very discovery may tear the world asunder. Terrifying forces are hell-bent on keeping the warplane forever hidden. Unwittingly, Will Jaeger is going in against them.

But as Jaeger joins a team of former elite warriors - including ice-cool Russian operator Irina Narov - he senses that the air wreck also harbours the answer he so longs to uncover: the identity of his wife and son's murderers. Hair-raising adventure, extreme survival quest and a shocking mystery reaching back into the horrors of Nazi Germany.

Better than expected...

It has to be said... Degas made this book a great listen. I found the story pretty predictable and not as surprising as you would hope perhaps, but it is good, and maybe that is why I actually enjoyed it more than I expected, as it is not pretentiously trying to be deep. It is just a good all round action adventure similar to books by Andy McNab and In my humble opinion it was well written (for what it is). I will buy subsequent titles in what will be an ongoing series.
Well done Bear.

A fantastic romo through the jungle.

Who would have thought that Bear Grylls had this kind of talent? This adventure thriller had me hooked. The narration is one of the best I have ever listened to and added immensely to the enjoyment of the story. Be warned though a frustrating cliff hanger ending grrr

Loved it but could've finished better

Engaging story, great characters, but the ending was quite sudden and left me on a cliff hanger, guess I'll have to check out the next one!

A fantastic listen

A gripping listen, although this book has caused much consternation as we will have to wait for the sequel!!!!! This story has you gripped from the first page and I would thoroughly recommend it. The detail is intriguing and very interesting..... but not overdone. Well done Bear Grylls.

Brilliant

One of the best novels I have listened to or read in a long time. Grylls has made an excellent start into being a fictional writer, brilliant.
