The story line is interesting enough for me to finish listening. The story is not something new.

Absolutely loved this book with a different dimensional look and how it took the character and lead him in the way of the book inspirational

Reading the write up for this book I thought it was going to be a supernatural thriller. It was mostly a love story between Karen Fortenberry and the man she fell in love with, a writer named James Carter. James had found a book in the library, black with a pentagram on the front. He was going to use this book to write a best-selling novel. That’s when things went wrong. The supernatural/possession occurred at the very end of the book. If you like romance novels with a bit of the supernatural thrown in this book is for you. However, the narration wasn’t very good. Catherine Anne spoke in a low sleepy voice throughout without any change to create any atmosphere where it was needed.

This book is well written and has a solid plot that moves at a good pace.

I found it very hard to relate to the motivations of the characters however. Despite being a Christian, I found the take on it in this book to be a bit more... strict, shall we say.

This made the plot seem more arbitrary than it may for those who better understand the beliefs expressed by the characters.

However the plot and characters are interesting and engaging. A solid listen. Definitely a romance (but not erotica, so fully appropriate for public places, which I appreciate!)

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.

A thriller for sure.
