Summary
If you can’t escape from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and anger in your everyday life, you can now discover how to it…thanks to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy!
“Running away from any problem only increases the distance from the solution.”
Medical conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, addictions, and substance abuse can all benefit from ACT and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them.
ACT develops psychological flexibility and is a form of behavioral therapy that combines mindfulness skills with the practice of self-acceptance. When aiming to be more accepting of your thoughts and feelings, commitment plays a key role. In the case of ACT, you commit to facing the problem head-on rather than avoiding your stresses.
What if you could accept and allow yourself to feel what you feel, even if it’s negative?
You will discover it thanks to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Workbook: A Complete Guide to Mindfulness Change and Recover from Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks and Anger by Albert Piaget.
Here’s what you’ll discover:
- Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Brilliant Book.
An easy to listen and extremely entertaining introduction to ACT. I would recommend this book to therapists wanting to introduce ACT into their practice, and learn more about the theory behind it.

Great One Everyone Should Listen.
If you have the first edition - give it to a charity shop, and buy this 2nd edition. Improved beyond measure, and easily the best of the "Made Simple" series. Explains ACT exactly as is described in the title....there is no book I could recommend more as a starting point to this most progressive so-called 3rd wave CBT model.

I love this book. It is comprehensive and extraordinarily well written. Rarely do I listen nonfiction that I can’t put down, but this was one of those special texts. A+

I’m a new social worker and really liked this as an intro to ACT. Looking forward to diving into the “Extra Bits” section online to get materials to practice with.

Valuable Book.
I listen this, then watch a seminar video where a ACT developer and instructor talks about how to use the ACT techniques with clients. Nice to have both.

Looks good so far and lots of info. I tend to put books down that don't grab my interest right away but I will read this one.
