one of the best books

Not easy to apply but the best book I found so far. I think this book is absolutely brilliant as well as the Acceptance and Commitment therapy it describes. I struggle with mild social anxiety and excessive worrying and I read many self-help books based on science i.e. CBT and ACT and this one is my favorite.

What language is this?

This is absolutely horrible to listen to. Worst audible reading sofar. Is it a bot reading? How come this book has good rating? If you can’t trust the rating it’s not worth much.

Dry and difficult to follow

I have listened to many books...this is unfortunately the most unhelpful performance coupled with a very dry abstract discussion of the subject. It is like listening to someone reading the phone book...expressionless. The use of acronyms suggests that it is a book for specialists, so I blame the marketing team for the misleading blurb.

Great Book!

This a very dense read, intended for psychotherapists, about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; pronounced "act"). The basic philosophical assumption underlying this approach is that people do not have to get rid of negative thoughts and feelings to get better (this is opposed to pretty mainstream psychological assumptions, for example CBT).

A very convincing approach to dealing with psychological and emotional disorders. It will guide us in dealing with our patients who are in deep trouble.
